Streaks and Notes Since 2000:
- Belfry finished with 7 State Titles and 4 Runner-Up Finishes in the 20-year stretch.

- Huntington, WV snapped a 30-game home winning streak when they defeated Belfry in the 2017 Pike County Bowl.

- Boyle County ended a 27 game home playoff win streak when they defeated Belfry in 2018.

- Belfry went 45-0 against Pike County Schools (Excluding Pikeville as an Independent School District) since 2000. Belfry has not lost to a Pike County School since Elkhorn City on November 8th 1974. Belfry is 66-0 in that 45-year span.

- Belfry went 17-3 against rival Pikeville during this 20-year window (85.00%).

- Belfry enters 2020 with a 41 game winning streak against District competition in tact.

- Belfry won 17 outright District Titles and tied for the District title in 2010. Belfry won 14 Regional Titles.

- Between 2002-2006 Belfry carried a 31 game winning streak against District competition.

- Sheldon Clark snapped a 33-game home winning streak against District competition when they defeated Belfry in 2009. It is the only time Belfry has lost to a District foe at CAM Stadium.

- Belfry went 17-2 (89.47%) against Private Schools during this 20-year window.

- Johnson Central bested Belfry during this 20-year window with their win in 2019, Belfry went 6-7 against the Golden Eagles. Jim Matney cannot boast he had a winning record though, before going to Johnson Central in 2004 he lost to Belfry in 2003 while at Sheldon Clark so he finishes 7-7 against Haywood for the 20-year window.

- After starting the 2000's with three straight losses to Lawrence County, Belfry went on to win 20-straight games entering 2020.

- Ironton, Ohio (0-6), Louisville Central (2-5), Ashland Blazer (1-5), Huntington, West Virginia (0-2) were the only teams to play Belfry more than once since 2000 and come away with winning records.

- Ohio was unkind to Belfry. The Pirates went 3-7 against teams from the Buckeye State. They were 3-1 against teams not named Ironton, FWIW.

- Belfry went 3-3 against teams from West Virginia. They were 3-1 against Tennessee teams.

- Belfry's greatest mastery was against teams from the Southern Kentucky Region. Belfry went 24-0 against teams from Harlan, Bell, Knox, Laurel, Pulaski, Wayne, and Whitley County during this 20-year stretch. It has been 23 years since a team from this area has defeated Belfry, that was Bell County in 1997.

- Belfry posted an impressive 24-3 record against Central Kentucky teams. Henry Clay (X2) and Boyle County were the only teams to best Belfry. The Pirates went 10-2 against teams from Lexington.


- Belfry also was undefeated against NKY teams, they went 8-0 since 2000. Belfry was undefeated against WKY teams as well, but they only played one, Owensboro Catholic in the 2004 State Championship.

- Belfry was 7-5 against teams from the Louisville Metro area (Jefferson, Hardin, Nelson, Bullitt, Shelby, Oldham, Meade, Spencer and Henry Counties)

- Belfry faced 12 teams that went on to win a State Championship. Belfry was 4-8 in those games but six of those losses were in the playoffs against teams from the same class (Four in the State Finals). All told, Belfry was 4-2 against teams in the regular season who went on to win their respective State Title.

- Belfry faced 15 teams who went on to finish as State Runner-Up. Belfry was 11-4 in those games. Removing the teams Belfry faced in the playoffs and State Finals, the Pirates were 4-1 against eventual State Runner-Ups in the regular season.

- The 2016 Belfry team had the most impressive resume of an Eastern Kentucky team in the modern era according to the Courier-Journal Lit Rating (** 2019 Johnson Central withheld as the Lit Ratings were no longer published**).

That 2016 team spent three weeks ranked as the #2 overall team in Kentucky behind Trinity. They were the #1 ranked small school in Kentucky every week and finished ranked as the #4 overall team. The 127.6 Final Rating is the highest in EKY history. The only EKY team in the modern era to finish the regular season with higher overall State Ranking was Breathitt County in 1997, the Bobcats though failed to go on to win a State Title after finishing the regular season as the #3 overall team in Kentucky.

- All told, 41 times would a Belfry player earn All-State 1st team recognition in either the Courier Journal, AP, or LHL Class of the Commonwealth since 2000. There were 19 different Individual Players to make 1st Team All-State. Cole Bentley, Austin Dotson, and Ray Horton would make 1st team All-State in Successive Years.

- Belfry has been ranked in the AP Poll every week since the first poll of the 2002 season was issued on September 17th, 2002.The Pirates dipped to #9 in the final AP Poll of 2010, but then upset the #1 and #2 ranked teams en route to a Runner-Up finish that season.
