Your Favorite Valentine's Day Songs : Classic Love Songs of Rock
#1
Okay, guys and gals,   VD ( pardon me) is only a couple weeks away. What are some of your favorite songs for the day of lovers. As a classic rock fan, I am mostly looking for great rock songs from the past.  If there is a crossover blast from the past that you like that's fine but keep that new country "Bromance" sh!t  out of here. lol

More songs have been written about love than any other subject, so is no shortage of candidates.  What songs would make your list?

I'll start with a little April Wine, baby!!!   "Just Between You and Me"

Lovers often seem to say
Hearts can be blind to love gone astray
Always it's the same old song
Someone's been hurt by love that's gone wrong

Just between you and me
Baby I know our love will be
Just between you and me
Always I know our love will be
Just between you
Just between you and me

Words are sometimes hard to find
The silence can be so unkind
You always help me find my way
The love that we share
Grows stronger each day

Just between you and me
Baby I know our love will be
Just between you and me
Always I know our love will be
Seulement entre toi et moi
Means that our love will always be
Just between you and me

This is one of my favorite classic rock tunes of all-time and one that may seem an odd choice for Valentine's Day. I don't think so, however. Any song that can romanticize death is, in my opinion, a great love song. This may be the only song that would fit Halloween and Valentine's Day. Love this song...with or without cowbell:

Go ahead, you put it on your Halloween list and I will make it my Valentine's Day special. lol

Valentine is done
Here but now they're gone
Romeo and Juliet
Are together in eternity, Romeo and Juliet
40, 000 men and women everyday, Like Romeo and Juliet
40, 000 men and women everyday, Redefine happiness
Another 40, 000 coming everyday, We can be like they are

Love of two is one
Here but now they're gone
Came the last night of sadness
And it was clear she couldn't go on

Then the door was open and the wind appeared
The candles blew then disappeared
The curtains flew then he appeared, saying don't be afraid
Come on baby, and she had no fear
And she ran to him, then they started to fly
They looked backward and said goodbye, she had become like they are
She had taken his hand, she had become like they are
Come on baby, don't fear the reaper
