Boyd knocked out 1st round of the 16th by Greenup County.

a lot of people had Boyd as a top 3 team in all of the mountains

While I tend to agree, the 16th always seems to be a bit over rated but Boyd County was pretty dang good this year. Beat Pikeville (2), Johnson Central, Painstville, (also lost once to Paintsville) Lawrence County, Prestonsburg and Cabell Midland (#4 ranked team in all WV rankings). So to say Boyd wasn’t a top 3 team in mountains is pretty ludicrous.

If you ranked the mountain teams (13-16 regions) based off regular season performance (I mean what else are you going to rank them off while doing rankings during the regular season?) Boyd would 100% be ranked in the top 3/4. 
1) Whitley Co 13th
2A) Boyd Co 16th
2B) Paintsville 15th
3A) Pikeville 15th
3B) Corbin 13th
4) Letcher County Central 14th
Based off regular season performances these would probably be your top teams in the mountains.
