Discussing ANYTHING related to ongoing war plans through an unauthorized platform or with unauthorized personnel is an OPSEC violation. Make no mistake, if a lower enlisted had done this then they would be on the block. Troops are technically not allowed to even discuss when and where they will be deploying, much less active operations. I served in the military and held a TS clearance. I'm not saying Hegseth should resign, and we really don't know how commonplace acts like this have been in the past, but the whole situation just reeks of incompetence and needs to be addressed.

As some of you mentioned already though, the real concern should be how an unauthorized person made it into this group without anyone noticing. I saw something early that mentioned it was a Mike Waltz staffer who added the reporter to the group, so you've got an (potentially) unauthorized person adding an unauthorized person into a group chat where at the very least sensitive information is being discussed, all on an unauthorized platform. This particular situation is not the end of the world, but you better believe that our adversaries knowing this happened will embolden them to probe these platforms moving forward.
