Both sides of this make good points. I like Pete but nobody with his strike zone should ever be behind the plate at the state tournament.
Wolfe didn't realize with him you have to switch from protecting the plate with two strikes to anything remotely close. If it's his turn put him anywhere else and I can deal with it. But not behind the plate, simply not fair to the kids

He had just walked a couple batters in a row before the strike out that ended the game with pitches in the same area that was called balls. Even if your strike zone is erratic it has to be somewhat consistent at all times. I think that's the big thing. If it's a strike now it should've been the entire game. Bottom line is Pete missed the call and has to be better in the state tournament especially. From the sounds of people in the 15th region he was pretty bad behind the plate all year and had no business behind the plate of a game this important to those young men in both dugouts.
