Old school this is a serious question and I know that you should be able to shoot me straight on it. I thought Corbin lost some good defensive players from last year and losing Elam and Cima in my opinion is a duo that’s hard to replace. Does Corbin have the weapons to reload this season or will they take somewhat of a step back??

Losing a guy like Elam is a blow but Kid Salmons will really surprise some people. Kid is an absolute baller. Can sling it 65 yards in the air on the fly. They lost some good defenders but they have some capable guys ready to step up. Malachi Brown did not play the first half of the season last year. He's bigger, stronger and ready to go from the start. Don't discount the possibility of a couple of big time transfers on defense, as well. The defense will be fine. And Corbin will have playmakers all over the field on offense and Luke Salmons is quite a good offensived coach. With all of the Malachi hype, don't forget about Malachi Zachery , who has added 2 inches and 20 pounds , primary position is RB but can also be a force at LB.

So, what I'm saying, is yes, they lost some quality guys. Elam is the type of play that doen't come around very often. But you don't have to have an Elam to be very good. I say it again, young Salmons has been priming for this moment for years. He's done all the QB camps, he's been very good at the JV level, and now he's primed to be one of the best QBs in the mountains for two years.

This season. all of the contenders are packed pretty close together. Last season , Boyle and Paducah stood out. This season is 4A is very winnable for five or six teams and Corbin most definitely has the talent to be right there among the best. Will be interesting to see how it plays out.
