Doctor wouldn't inject me since he wasn't certain of exactly what's going on with the knee. He suggested an X-ray. I declined on that for now. He wrote me a prescription for the methylpredisolone pack that you recommended and also some 800 mg Ibuprofen. I asked him to  help find me a good rheumatologist.  So, the treatment so far is the steroid pack, 2400mg/day Ibuprofen and 1600mg/day Turmeric/Curcumin.

Do you walk very much? My right knee and feet used to ache and I suspected that it was the onset of arthritis. I have also had sporadic bouts of gout. About 8 months ago, I began taking public transportation to and from my office, which includes 6-7,000 steps a day. My feet get tired sometimes from the walking, but the pain has completely disappeared. 

I also recently bought an e-bike and plan to commute to work on it when the weather cools a bit. The nice things about e-bikes is that you can control the amount of peddling effort with the push of a button. I had not been on a bike in 40 years, so right now, I'm focused on not crashing it on the parking lot.

If you are able to increase your physical activity, that may bring you some relief. Sitting in a chair 8 hours a day or more, with virtually no exercise was killing me.

Unreal. I'm in same situation. My e-bike just got delivered and I'm going to try to assemble it this weekend. Was yours difficult to put together? I'm going to start walking a mile a day and try to get to 2 miles. I have been at a desk for decades also and it is a killer. Just read an article that said a brisk 15 minute walk every day significantly diminishes the chance of early death.

Oh and I'm also worried about killing myself on the bike. But I see them everywhere in FL and a lot of people older than me are having no problem riding them. Baby steps in the driveway and neighborhood for a day or 2 then I'm all over town lol.

Mine was nearly completely pre-assembled but it had some damage from shipping. The company has been great and sent me replacement parts. I went with a Lectric XP 2.0 cargo bike and it weighs a little over 100 lbs. I got two optional high capacity batteries, which should give me a range of at least 60 miles. I didn't want to have to recharge it at the office. The maximum range is 170 miles, but that is for a lighter rider on level terrain. I also wanted a bike that would be able to haul groceries and mine has a weight capacity of 450 lbs.

I have a lot of work to do before I attempt to ride the bike to work and back. This area is blessed with lots of bike trails, but traffic is heavy with bikes, scooters, and pedestrians.

The downside to my bike is its length and weight. It is too heavy for bike racks on buses. I can take it on trains but will need to avoid peak hours. It could easily block 4 or 5 seats and I don't want people having to stand on my account.
