[Hoot Gibson]

After much procrastination, I plan to finally venture beyond my parking lot for my first trip on my new eBike. The trip will be at least 6 or 7 miles, if all goes well, mostly on bike trails. The first leg of the trail runs parallel to I-66 to Vienna, Virginia, and I will return home on the Washington & Old Dominion trail, which follows an old train rail bed. 

I have the  Komoot and Bikemap apps installed on my phone for route planning and navigation.

This is my first e-bike ever and first bike of any kind in the past 40 years. Hopefully, I will not be posting my next update from a hospital bed.

I will post a description of my experience here. 

I am interested in hearing about other people's experiences with eBikes, so please post them here, along with tips and questions about equipment, bike trip software, etc. I am a novice on this subject, but there must be some experienced eBikers on this forum.
