I made it out of my apartment complex - barely. By then, it was obvious that I had not properly tightened my seat. I decided to call it a day and push the bike home. So, I got some practice using the"walk" mode of the bike, which propels it at 3 mph. The ride and walk home were not as short as they sound. I live in a very l large apartment complex.
The good news is that aside from the problem with the seat, everything else went pretty well. I kept the bike in the lowest peddle assist level, shifted gears on a small hill, the brakes worked well, and I felt that my balance had improved. I increased the pressure in my tires before the ride to improve the ride and reduce the risk of a "pich flat." I need to tighten some of the devices attached to the handlebars, such as the phone holder.
At the rate that I am progressing, I will only need to charge my batteries every couple of months.
