I have to agree with the both of you and just saying that bringing a smile to someone else's face puts one on mine as well. Of course it is important to help those near and dear to you but strangers always make me melt. I always throw a hand in appreciation when someone helps me out on the road or a smile to a stranger when our eyes meet when I'm out somewhere. You never know what these people are going through and something just as simple as smile could make their day. I was in a grocery store a little over a week ago and we were expecting some bad weather. I heard a little old lady asking for some cans of green beans because she wouldn't reach them and she said "I know if I run out of food then I can eat green beans for a long time." It BROKE my heart because there are so many elderly out there living on a fixed income and you never know when things happen that are unexpected and their money has to go somewhere else. I seriously wanted to hand her every dollar that I had in my pocket. I make a point to help out in any way that I possibly can whether it be picking up something for a person whether they notice that they dropped it or not or even helping them load groceries. The thing that means the world to me is also knowing that I just make a difference no matter how big or how small things seem.
