not running that offense is a good step in the right direction
and i think that a far as what offense you run you have to look at what you have
a running back for a quarter back
a running back for a full-back
and a running back for a tail back
so the safest thing to do would be to run the ball down the other teams gut
and not dothe trickery that this offense has displayed in the past
but good luck running the ball with that weeak offensive line!

Seems to me, however that you might be someone with "an agenda" (categorizing our offensive line as "weak" and the mainly "negative" overtones in your posts). If not, I look forward to hearing from you and having you share your ideas as to how we could do things better. Maybe you could even come on board as a volunteer coach?

I appreciate some of the things that have been said on here as a defense of my previous record as a coach, but truth is, any "big wins" are in the past and don't matter squat to the good fans of Pikeville who (rightfully so) expect only the best. They (along with our players, parents, administration, etc.) can rest assured that we are doing nothing short of our best -- most of the time even 7 days a week even in the off-season -- to make sure what happened last year doesn't happen again.

Further -- I will hope to be announcing a "Talking Panther Football" get-together soon where folks from the community (fans, former players, etc.) can come to the school or Jerry's or somewhere and hear first-hand a little as to why we do what we do on offense, defense, special teams, in the off-season, etc.

And as to the QB discussion, message boards are fine for speculation, but just like at EVERY position at PHS, playing time, starting assignments, etc. will be determined by ONE thing -- who PROVES BEST on the PRACTICE FIELD and in the WEIGHT ROOM that we can TRUST them to do what is required in the games. Not by who did it last year...not by who's daddy has more money...not by who's parents complain the loudest. Tim H. got thrust into something that was almost totally new to him and did a GREAT job considering the circumstances and the pressure put on him. He MAY be best-suited for a different role -- and maybe one that would enhance his college options even -- but that decision hasn't been made yet.

If ANY true fan of Pikeville football wants to come and see what we're doing, our weight room and coaches office door is always open -- we're generally here from 2:00 to 6:30 just about every night (leave earlier on Wednesdays) in the weight room above the gym.
