They are a member of the OVC and compete in what was formerly known as Division I-AA but is now known as the FCS (Football Championship Series) Division 1.
But to say "D-1" is misleading because practically everyone in the nation still considers D-1 to be schools in the FBS (Football Bowl Subdivision).
Congrats to Dials and his family. Getting a scholarship in football anywhere in the nation is a big deal whether it is FCS, FBS or NAIA. Many, many players would give anything just to get to play another 4 or 5 years.
