I can only speak for the kids that I have known that were hold backs. They generally have done very well after being held back. There arer always exceptions to every issue. On the athletic side, you have to remember that regardless of what your school does, your competion will be fielding 19 year old seniors. If you want your child to be competitive, I recommend that yo give him the same advantage.
