I don't think they have the players to run either of those schemes. As far as them being heavy passing team you need to have an offensive line that can keep the D off of the QB. Also you need a QB that can complete around 60 to 65% of his passes on any given night or else you are going to be going 3 and out the majority of your night. Thirdly you need some WR's who can get off the line and stretch the field with speed and pretty much the only speed they return will be Butcher and Doderer but I would assume they will be getting the bulk of the carries. So with a new line and a new QB this will be a hard offense to run with a high rate of efficiency. On the other side of the ball I think they will end up running a 5-2 monster. Because to run a 4-3 you need four D-Lineman that are pure "STUDS" because otherwise you will be getting pounded by the run.

Everybody said the same thing my senior year after losin 4 offensive linemen from the year before (2001 Region Champs team). We started 2 freshmen, 2 juniors who had no experience and a senior who got alot of playin time as a junior but was injured most of the year. Me and Justin Arms were the only recievers, Junior Shane Simpkins played QB for the first time since middle school. We passed the ball pretty darn good, we couldn't run the ball to save our lives. Our FB Kyle Murphy was our leadin rusher and he finished the year with barely over 500 yards. But enough about that. You are right, they need a QB that CAN pass effectively, Shane was just an amazin athlete who could do anything. They will need some recievers with some speed, which they have Tyler Deaton back who has the speed but his hands sometimes don't come thru, lol. Butcher could play WR, Jake Cyrus is comin back out, he has good speed and good hands. Cody Reynolds would make a good TE and his brother Brett would also if he don't play QB. As for the defense, you're right. IDK what they are gonna run, the 4-3 was just a guess. I agree about the 5-2 cause they aren't gonna face very many teams that pass the ball. I just know the 4-3 is what Kinner ran in high school and alot in college and Coach Ward was the LB coach when I played and we ran the 4-3. We also had one of the best defensive lineman to come out of this area in Ryan Brown, he was a one man wreckin crew that forced opposin offenses to double and triple team him freein up other DL and LB's, but let's face it, Paintsville has nobody like that, lol. IDK what's gonna happen or what they are gonna run, we'll just have to wait and who all comes out to play and at what positions.
