If you remember the football field was not exactly complete this year either. You just about had to have binoculors to see the players from the stands, but they are now getting the rest of the facilities complete through a series of phases. I didn't hear anybody insinuating that the football boys were getting screwed over because their seating or the new locker rooms was not complete. IDK, it could be the same for baseball this year, there may not be the stadium parts that are the finshed product, but that dont take anything away from being able to play the game. All seating is , is creature comfort to the spectators anyway. It doesnt effect the players at all.

Also if you remember in 2003 Pikeville played all of their games on the road, because they were getting their field turf put down. Now look what they have! I dont think you heard anything from Pikeville fans crying about how their kids were being screwed over because of that particular inconvenience.. I dont think it would be the end of the world for anybody to have to be a little inconvenienced for the sake of getting two brand new state of the art facilities. It's not like they are ultimately going to stick the players out in a cow pasture somewhere. They will have one of the nicest facilities anywhere when it's all done. Just about all construction jobs end up going over a scheduled time of completion date anyways. Personally I dont think this is all that great of an issue if the completion time does run just a tad bit over schedule. As far as scratching something out in a couple of weeks, realisticly there is not anything that is going to consume all that much time in doing, once the final grade is put down. Weather could play a delay issue, but that is something out of anyone's control.

As for the softball girls there are still two other fields that can be used on the Cal Ripkin sites. Could by chance happen to be a little inconvenient to all parties if they should happen to have to utilize them, but hey everything in life dont always run like clockwork. Do youthink it may take 4-5 years to complete? I would hate for that to happen to our softball players. That would be horrible. It would be like funneling all the $$ into a last run for a basketball program!

No, I dont think there is a shot of that happening. I think you will see everything completed this year with the teams actually playing on them before the season is over. Remember just like the baseball field, it is not a real complicated thing to construct. In fact the cost will be much lower than what the cost of the baseball field will be because of it's significantly smaller size and the fact that there is no cost involved in sodding an infield. The constuction of the softball field is almost identical to that of just one of the Cal Ripkin fields. They are for all intents and purposes the very same. You saw how quickly they were completed once the weather broke even while everyone was panicing that there was no way that they would be completed in time to play on.
