David Hensley is beginning his 3rd year with P.L. Dunbar High School Football program. David has been teaching for 19 years. He currently teaches Health and Physical Education at Dunbar.

Coach Hensley began his head coaching career at East Jessamine High School in Nicholasville, KY in 2002. While at East Jessamine, he compiled a 28-8 record and a district championship while leading the Jaguars to the playoffs every year. In 2003, his team’s offense was ranked 1st in the state and defense was ranked 7th. In 2004, Coach Hensley was named District 6-3A Coach of the Year. He was also 2003 Jessamine County Schools Coach of the Year.

Prior to his head coaching career, David worked as offensive and defensive coordinators and positions coach in several area schools including Madison Central HS, Harrison Co, Wayne Co, Somerset, Pulaski Co and Southwest Pulaski HS.

Coach Hensley played football for Cawood High School, Harlan, KY where he was an All-State Running Back and 4 year letterman. He then went on to play for Eastern Kentucky University where he was a member of 3 OVC Championship teams and was a 4 year letterman.

Coach Hensley is married to Danielle Estrada-Hensley who is also a teacher at Shannon Johnson Elementary, Berea, KY. David and Danielle have a son, Brady who is 3 year old and one year old twin daughters Bailey and Shelby.

That's interesting, I guess there will have to be an opening for her also. I wonder what she teaches?
