Mercer Co beat everybody by 50 points in 2006. Came into the championship against us (Russell) and we beat them physically and one score was questionable.. Not to start that again. but the final was Russell 12-Mercer 15.
Mercer was a consolidated school with Harrodsburg I think. A 2A school and a 1A school to combine to give them a 5A school membership. They were allowed to play in 2A becasue they made their schedule 1 week before consolidating. This gave them to option to play in the 2 A division with approval of the KHSAA..
Not fair to every school they played that year becasue they went to the 5A division the next year withthe same enrollment.
