I have been told that often the truth lies somewhere in the grey area. Maybe Obama and Ayers were more connected than Obama is making it out to be, but on that same note, I do not think they were as connected as McCain, Sean Hannity, and Fox News are making it out to be.

However, I think it is wrong to assume that somehow if Obama wins, he will turn into someone like Ayers or even consult with Ayers. I'm pretty sure his ties, whatever they may have been, are completely severed with him now and we shouldn't harp on the past. If we are going to harp on the past then we could bring up some things in John McCain's past (Keating 5) but the fact is, it is not relevant to the present.

I used to hang out with some shady people, but I do not associate with them anymore and I don't consider myself part of that crowd. We live and learn and no one is perfect.
