BELFRY
OFFENSE
1. Running Game- B The numbers are good, they are consistently gaining yards, they have shown big play ability, but the fumbles are attrocious. Last year this would be an A+
2. Passing Game- D We are not a passing team and it shows...
3. Line play- B+ Still not as domiannt as they should be and some mental errors,,but clearly one of the better units in all of 2A.
4. Backfield- B- Read runnign game comments, Phillips still is struggling as a QB, but this unit improves every week
5. Receivers/Ends- C They are doing what they can, TE's have been impressive as blockerd.
6. Mental Preparedness-C This gets better every week,,, but man those fumbles are painful.
7. Coaching-A Each week they get better and better and by season's end they will look darn good.
OVERALL- B-
DEFENSE
1. Run Defense- B So far they have been excellent with moments of let down that look horrible.
2. Pass Defense- B- Never a strong point but looks better than most years. Enough speed to actually pressure the QB some.
3. D-line- B Strongest part of defense, undersized but very quick and aggressive. Still ahve tackling issues.
4. LB's- C- Defiately the weak link...but improving
5. Secondary- C+ Young group that still are imprving, Maynard and Chapman have looked good.
6.Mental preparedness- B- Too many mental letdowns, but that is expected right now. They were pretty solid against a good Lawrence County team.
7.Coaching- B Not improving as quick as I hoped, blown assignments reflect back poorly, but noentheless solid coaching.
OVERALL- B
SPECIAL TEAMS
1. Returns- A Maynard has became a superstar as a kick returner and a viable threat.
2. Coverage- B- So far it's all rightbut Belfry always worries me againsta team who can form a good middle wedge and have speed to break through.
3. Kicking- C Average. Nothing special.
OVERALL- B, but improving
EFFORT- A
