The reason that some schools don't have sports is due to participation. For example, Dayton did not have a baseball team for three years due to no kids interested in playing. They did have girls softball. This happens at many of the 'A' schools.

This is what I was thinking too. Schools just don't always have enough turn out to make for a team for a particular sport.
