Is that similar to what the Marine Corps calls rthe Forward Observer? Thank you for your service. Wher are you currently stationed/deployed? How long do you have left until EAS??

Yeah pretty much. We have our own forward observer who calls in airstrikes. We call in artillery and do alot of recon. I'm currently at Campbell, 1-33 Cav, 3rd brigade. I'm out in March 2011. The difference in a cav scout and a forward observer is we do alot more combat ops, were pretty much advanced infantry. Observers are more specialized in calling in airstrikes and doing recon.
