Pike Central is quality opp. they beat Boyd co...the same Boyd co team that took belfry the distance the week before.

They may have lost to valley imo a top 10 2A team, and they lost to Henry Co, the 7th ranked 3A team.

I dont see how Pike Central gets beat by HC by 14, and is blown out by valley, and Valley plays in a smaller class but still get no love, while HC does, when they have played a horrible schedule as well.

but getting back to the Point, Pike Central will scare some people this season, PC is a quality team, and was a quality win for a 2A program, that is building confidince in their program, and If Pike Central was to play Carroll County schdeule they would be undefeated right now.

-Knott Central is also an improved team, they have lost to PCC and Shelby Valley because they are supposed to, but they Beat Lewis, and should place 3rd in their district, while winning a couple more down the road.

I was at the SV/Pike Central game and it was not a blowout. Pike Central made mistakes down the stretch that Valley converted on. Shelby Valley does have a top 15 team in 2A right now, but Valley will get their shot at proving us voters wrong this Friday night against Lawrence County.

Pike Central does have a good team that will surprise some team this season, but I don't think they'll finish above 3rd place in their district.

Although Henry County is ranked in 3A, they aren't that strong of a team. 3A is DOWN this season. Outside of Central, Mason County, Sheldon Clark, Belfry and possibly a few others about 10-15 teams are equal. It's really hard when voting for class 3A because you don't want to leave some teams out that you feel could defeat some of the teams that are ranked.

But when it all comes down to it, wins and losses play a major factor in a lot of our votes. Some of the teams that we know are good and have a good tradition have taken their lumps so far this season and when they get into district play that's when these rankings will begin to fill out and become more accurate.
