Appalachian Wireless = borderline rip-off

vundy33 Wrote:I hate them and i'm totally against them. When I was home on leave in May, I went to get a phone from App Wireless because phone companies (even the big ones) outside of post try to rip us off. Anyway, I have a 680 credit score which is excellent and I went to get a phone. They told me because my credit was bad I would have to put $700 down for a deposit, and THEN pay for the plan and phone. Needless to say I told them to shove that deposit up there ***. Then, when I was in in August, I went to get a phone at AT&T and they checked my credit and said I didn't even have to put a deposit down. I got a really expensive phone for pretty much nothing. They even had a military discount and service was great too. I even got the beautiful girl's number that sold it to me.
That's funny, there isn't a $700 deposit.

The credit score thing, there are 3 different credit companies that a person can go through to get a score, Equifax, Experian, and Transunion. AT&T uses a different one than Appalachian Wireless. So just because your credit score was perfect on one doesn't mean that it is on the other. You will have a different score on each of the 3 credit bureaus.

And very funny comment with the great service. Call me when you break down between Paintsville and Louisa on US23 (or the other 75% of the area where you don't get service). Oh, wait, you won't be able to.
