Good parenting Pirate.

I know that I am still pretty young compared to alot of the members here, and let her read this if you want, but you sound like a very good mom. When I was her age I was full of "but mom", "everyone else is doing it", and "why can't I" but now I am so glad that my parents raised me the way that they did. I have grown and matured enough to see their reasoning behind not letting me go to Pikeville with the boy that was 4 years older than me, I see why I couldn't stay out as late as other people, I can see why mom wouldn't always let me stay at dances by myself, why she tried to warn me about my friends, and many, many other instances.

At the time I saw nothing wrong with what I was asking of them, but thinking back on it I know that they made these choices because they loved me. I didn't get my tattoo as earlier as everyone else, I still don't have my driver's license (but I am going very soon), they were in "my business" all of the time I thought but in doing so it has kept me off from drugs, kept me away from smoking, having sex was not even an option, getting out with my friends and getting into a car wreck because of inexperienced drivers and everything other thing that I have been protected for makes me thank and appreciate them.

Sorry that I wrote a novel but it is nice to see that their still are parents out there like mine, not just the ones that could care less what their children do and give in to every request made of their kids and never question where they are going, why, and who they will be with.

Your daughter will grow up to be a very nice, mature young lady if you keep raising her that way. Eventually she will see that she is so very lucky to have a mom such as you PiratePal.

And by this post, I can tell that your parents have done an exceptional job as well!
