Would the tax have anything to do with energy consumption? If "poor white folk" are so worried about this tax, maybe they should just tan the old fashioned way, for free, under the sun. Just sayin..

I gladly pay my "sin" tax on my spirits. If I don't want to pay that tax, I'll quit "partaking". Same thing.

That kind of attitude only encourages socialists like Obama to keep finding products and services that impact a minority of US citizens. Death by a thousand small cuts is still death. I have never smoked in my life and think people who do are idiots - but I will oppose punitive cigarette taxes levied on those idiots with my dying breath.

Every time that our government imposes a "targeted tax" or a so-called "sin tax" to control behavior, every American citizen's personal liberty takes a hit. If good German citizens had objected en masse when the Nazis first began stripping Jews of their property and freedom, the Holocaust might never have happened.

As long as people remain silent when government oppression does not personally affect them, extremists in Washington will continue to strip away our freedoms one at a time until we are powerless to oppose the tyrants.
