I understand your point, but it is EXTREME! People said the same things whenever the tax on gas increased. We are still free people.

Not as free as we were before the tax was imposed.

I am agreeing that the tax is wrong. I am even agreeing that if silly taxes continue then action needs to be taken. I just refuse to agree with your extreme analogy. That is all we disagree on. No reason to call me something as terrible as an Obama supporter :biggrin: (Even though I would consider myself a Statist)

I am relieve to hear that you are not an Obama supporter. Silly taxes have continued unabated and they will continue to propagate as long as so many people do not care that their neighbor's tax bill has gone up.

The sad thing is that there are so many examples of the impact of creeping socialism around the world, where free societies have offered little resistance to incremental intrusions on their liberty. Higher taxes are only one facet of the problem of creeping socialism. Canadians have gradually lost their free speech rights and citizens in the UK are beginning to understand how Soviet citizens felt.

A boy of five was left stranded in a tree at school because of a bizarre health and safety policy - which banned teachers from helping him down.
The mischievous pupil climbed the 20ft tree at the end of morning break and refused to come down.

But instead of helping him, staff followed guidelines and retreated inside the school building to ‘observe from a distance’ so the child would not get ‘distracted and fall’
