Minor technical correction to your post: Highlands did not get the injunction. The player, Mitchell, got the injunction. Actually Highlands was a defendent in the law suit right along with the KHSAA in the legal action. Highlands NEVER asked for the injunction to be issued nor took any legal action to get the KHSAA's eligibility decision overturned by the courts. They never encouraged Mitchell to file the suit and request the injunction. Highlands only involvement in the mess, other than respond to pleadings filed by Mitchell which they were legally obligated to do, was to not play Mitchell when the KHSAA ruled him ineligible; to play Mitchell during the time period the court system ruled him eligible; and to stop playing him when the court system later ruled him ineligible. In other words, Highlands simply complied with the decision of the KHSAA until the court system overruled the KHSAA and later complied with all orders issued by the court system. It seemingly gets lost on a lot of people that the court system's orders and rulings prevail over an administrative agency's decision. And it likewise seemingly gets lost on a lot of people that the KHSAA's own written due process procedures permitted Mitchell to file the suit and get the injunction. Kentucky Revised Statutes Chapter 13B mandate that the KHSAA's final decision be appealable to the court system, whether the KHSAA, schools and fans like it or not. Thanks for the clarification charlie 22. I didn't want to start that all over again. I just think that if they are going against the KHSAA then why even have them. JMO
