JJ Jude is now the all-time leading rusher in Kentucky History.
#31
He is the most hardworking kid out there. Well deserved honor.
#32
He's a nice player and I'm sure he's a good guy. In my opinion the record is a sham though. Too many yards when games were out of reach against horrible teams.

^Just congratulate the kid. The neg. comments we can ALL live without.

Would you like a little cheese to go with that whine? Everyone gets tired of listening to your crap. This is meant for wideleft by the way, I guess I forgot to reference his post.

They can't be adults. They have to be haters. Regardless of what you think of the coach, this kid has given his all during the season and during the off season. Sometimes, the adults needs to step back and take a look at their comments towards kids. I get tired of listening to it too.

Look at your current Top 5 in the record book.... if you want to put an asterisk by Jude I have a feeling there are a few others that have to be thrown out as well.

Give the kid his due. If you have a problem with the head coach write him an email.

A sham? if he would have cheated or played an extra season or something along those lines maybe you could call it a sham. He went out there every week just like every other kid on both teams and played within the same rules, and on the same field as everyone competing with and against him. Was derek homer out of every game that was out of hand during his 4 years in high school? I very seriously doubt it. Wales has also put up some gaudy numbers in some pretty big blowouts as well. Give this kid his due, he's the all time leading rusher now....and for that I say congratulations to him.

Big congrats to JJ.

I said he's a great player. I just don't think he'd have the record if he exited the game when most starters do in blowouts. I'm sure he's not the only person in the record books who's been a beneficiary of compiling big numbers in games that aren't close.

Congratz JJ! The sky is the limit for you young man. We have attended a few camps with him. He is a very good guy.

Id say if you look at a top 10 in any stats category in high school or college for that, and you wont find many that haven't compiled big numbers in games that arent close. When you're put on a level playing field (4 years for everyone) you just dont set records like the ones that are in place unless stuff like that happens.

Congrats, great accomplishment!

True. But tell me Towles couldn't have thrown for 900 yards the night Highlands played Holmes, Pendleton, Harrison. Many of them. He could have had 9000 yards passing this year. But Highlands is about winning state titles. Not about 1 guy getting a record.

Congratulations JJ! Im glad to say that ive had the privilege of watching him play in person. He is a great athlete and derserves this because of all the hard work he's put in. Lets hope you can run all over Highlands next week and take your team even further into the playoffs. Gooduck JJ and the rest of the JC team.

When it comes to high school football records you can make any number of "complaints".

Ace Wales- "It is not fair that he is setting the record and it is a sham. Wales
has had tons of D-1 talent around him that has made him look good. Additionally his team plays 15 games every year instead of 13!"

Derek Homer- "His record is a sham! He got every single carry! If he had to play on a wishbone team like Jude with 4 legitimate running threats he wouldn't have nearly the yards!"

Jeremy Britt- "This record is a farce! He started his career at a 4A school and transferred to a 1A school... he was used to 4A competition and when he started playing these 1A teams lucky to dress 22 players total he had an unfair advantage. He wouldn't have this record had he stayed at a 4A school!"

See what I did there? All arguments are asinine and quite frankly would reap of sour grapes. Anytime you see crazy statistics at the HS level, there is going to be an advantage that led to this occurring that can be pointed to (even if it is a stretch). We aren't judging him to be the best RB of all-time...we are judging him to be the most productive..... HUGE DIFFERENCE. If that were the case we would require a perfect scenario for someone to set this record solely playing a GCL type of schedule, with an average offensive line, getting only 20-25 carries a game, and never seeing a touch when their team is up over 4 TD's, and play on a team that has a 50/50 balanced offense.

When someone posts "Who is the Best Back of All-Time", then you can argue away... but as it stands now it smells of being petty and wanting to flame when a young man who has busted his ass has his rightful time to be celebrated.

"Towles has an unfair advantage. Highlands is clearly one of the 3 best teams in the state year in and year out...they have one of the best O-lines to protect him... their coach is too smart.... and they have former NFL guys coaching him up. His records are a sham. Why did Highlands pass the ball? They could beat those teams running a QB sneak the whole time. The only reason they passed was because they wanted to get him his stats!"

Johnson Central running back J.J. Jude ran for 437 yards and scored six touchdowns en route to setting Kentucky's career rushing record in a 63-20 victory against visiting Holmes in the Class 4A playoffs Friday night.
Jude, who entered the game 124 yards shy of Derek Homer's mark, carried the ball 35 times and has now run for 8,539 yards during his career.
Next up for Jude and the Golden Eagles is a matchup with Highlands, ranked No. 2 in Dave Cantrall's Rating the State.

Towles could put up more gaudy numbers than Corey Robinson did a few years ago. There is a difference between the programs at highlands and jc though. Towles is a superstar and the best qb in state that is very true, but someone is going to step in and replace him, the same as it has been done for upwards of 100 years. Lorenzen, Derek Smith, Marty Moore, Rob Smith, Mike Mitchell, the Guidugil's, now Towles. It doesnt matter the name at highlands someone will step up and replace you and do just as good a job, so whoever the future all state qb sitting behind Towles is, and for future reference the guy that will back him up in a few years will see the field alot sooner in a blowout because of the way the program is run. JC on the other will probably not see another JJ Jude for the next 10-20 years if ever, and there is certainly not a rb his caliber backing him up.

Am I saying JJ Jude is the best rb in the states history? Not at all, you could make an argument that he isnt even top 5. I am saying he is the most productive ever and he deserves to be congratulated for that.

Congrats, Mr. Jude!:yeah:

A simple congratulations would suffice. Way to go JJ, don't let anyone tell you that you didn't deserve it!!

Glad I got to go over and watch tonight congrats JJ on breaking the rushing record

Congrats JJ. I've watched you play multiple times and you are a very good RB. I love your competitiveness and desire. Job well done.

Kind of like one of Highlands championships was a sham, huh?
#54
Congratulations on a remarkable accomplishment. He didn't break the record by a little but by a lot with at least one more game to go which I guess is at Highlands.
#55
Congrats JJ. You deserve this record!! Not many kids at this age work as hard as you do, striving to be the best at something. You set a goal and accomplished it. Most don't realize how hard you work, getting up before school and going to work out, getting up on the weekends when most teenagers were sleeping in and running!! Great role model for the kids in our area. Congrats not only to the football player but the person you have become in our community!!!:1:

Bet you would not be saying anything about this if it was your child trying to break a record.........

One can only hope he doesn't have children and if he does they don't have his negative attitude. If he does and they do they will surely not be breaking records because they have spent to much time complaining about others instead of concentrating on themselves.

Whether it be Lefty or others on this site, taking potshots at kids is cowardly and childish! This crap begins to sound like a bunch of little old ladies who have spent a lifetime being disappointed and always blaming everyone else! Look, I love rooting hard for "my guy", no matter who it is! And I love taking pot-shots at everyone else's team (even when I know nothing about their team) - It's fun and 99.9% of the people on here "GET IT"! Its fun, we all like getting under each others collars because well all like a good fight! But when it gets to the point of taking pot-shots at a teenager crosses the line between being a good "troll" or just being a plain "ASS".

Look, I've never seen JJ personally! I get how records are made! We can all agree or disagree on their merit! But bottom-line, this young man was asked to do a job! He was given the opportunity to do it! God gave him not only the ability to be a better than the average player! And he went our and exceeded what everyone thought he could do! I don't know the young man, but I sure as hell am proud as dickens of him!

Someone will come along and break this record, but by-gawd, TODAY is JJ's Day! Be happy for him and get over your own selfishness!

Great Job JJ It is an Honor that no one will match.
