We at Belfry are use to being state runner up twice to central maybe three this year so we are not sore losers. We know what we are up against and so does every team Central faces. That does not change the fact that we want to play them win or lose. You cant feel bad about losing to a team from Lousville who has so many kids to choose from they have more highs schools than some counties. They have great athletes plain and simple. All I was saying is that 3A is now like 6A no other team has much of a chance.There are threads on BGR about first roung blowouts if memory serves me all but one state championship last year was a blowout. The only person that would be for that kind of domination is the ones winning all the time.They may only have 300 boys in the school with 120 playing football but most other teams are lucky to have 40 or 50 playing football it doesnt change their enrollment.That being said anything can happen on friday night dont count them out til the games over they will be playin to win.:eyeroll:

Your right upsets do happen, I don't know how much in high school football , but I'm sure they happen too. Central Nation respects the heck out of Belfry and their football accomplishments , good luck to the pirates irateSho. Coached with a belfry grad couple years ago and he is a heck of a coach IMO

The only thing I got out of your post was that Central is too big and bad for the rest of 3A.

Piss on that, I'm glad they're in 3A and everyone else, including my Pirates, needs to step up their level of play and beat them.

Crying about Central's so-called advantages is not what I'm about, and I don't think the rest of Pond Creek Nation is either.

I said that enrollment made central 4A you guys say that because they have less boys than girls makes them 3a why should that matter when they have 2 times as many boys in football than most other schools.My point is for compition reasons. Bell,Brethitt,Belfry,Russell,Tilghman and a few other great comp. does Highland not choose to play up in 4a because of the comp.I dont care win or lose we want to play central and as long as they are 3A teams are gunning for them,but facts show that they could be state champs in 3A from now and forever. They have a great program and i respect them for what they do.:biggrin:

And if that be the case, and they are in the proper class.. then by all means they should win every 3A state title til someone can beat them ..period!!!

Enrollment does not make Central 4A. Football classifications are not determined by total enrollment, they are determined by male enrollment. Central's male enrollment makes them 3A.

Highlands doesn't play up in this alignment, their male enrollment makes them 4A. In the old alignment they petitioned to play in 5A because of geographical reasons and were granted that, but in this alignment, they had plenty of 4A schools in their geographical region and they did not request to play up.

Well i did not know that male enrolment classified teams, that said I dont give a hoot about central or belfry for that matter what i care about is good copmitition for a state champ game. There are threads all over BGR about the fact that blowouts are no fun all i did was state a fact that a lot of others on BGR have said im not the only one. If central like trinity dominate from here to eternity its no sweat off my back. I do want to see championship games that are close and any team can win. Highlands knew they were to good and did not care to play up so they did and were still able to compete. Central could win 4A year after year also maybe even 5A. I think games in the 3rd 4th and state champ games are more fun when both teams have a chance. 6a sucks to most everyone cause we know who wins no one except the teams playing fans even watch. Who cares if you already know the outcome. Teams that face central will come to play,but may never win. I love Belfry football and part of that is not knowing if we will beat Pike central,Sheldon Clark, Brethitt,or Russell cause as good as Belfry has been and is they:insane: DO NOT always win!!

You must be one of the fans who think Pike Central is an actual rival.

Kids at Belfry have always been taught to face adversity head on, don't run from a challenge, lay it on the line each & everytime you're on the field, and that these lessons applied in life will make a successful person.

You're either a kid who knows not what I speak of, or a parent who has no idea how to instill this kind of grit in your offspring, Whichever one it be I'm saddened by it.

It sounds corny sometimes, even to me, but "Pirate Pride" isn't just about winning football games.
