Knox Central 39 - Johnson Central 29
#31
Jeff Canady is a very impressive football player all over the field. I have talked to this young man and he is a very polite and respectful person. He is always encouraging the other players on the team.

Serious question to you knox fans....

Could Knox still be successful if Canady went down to an injury?
Who would step up?
#33
Canaday was a man among boys. This was the first time I've seen him in person. I do think if they play again in five weeks JC would be the better team. Keep your head up boys and keep working toward the end of the season like we always do. Coach Matney will have you boys ready to go win a district title! Go Eagles!

Looks like Johnson central's season ends in ft Thomas again if not sooner.

Heres a question why would you ask such a stupid question. Thats taboo. Knox has alot of talent, Barger,Gist,Hammons,H.Canady,Hall and Evans. Should I continue. Canady is a great individual player on a getting pretty good TEAM.

Congrats to Knox... Time to work on getting better.... Good teams always learn from a loss.

In other news, sun rises in east today. You say this like your trolling is going to get some response? Nobody in 4A has any delusion they're going to beat HHS, I'm sure. But if you enjoy stating the obvious, please continue. Or get back under your bridge, troll.

Its not a stupid question.
Everytime i see a highlight reel of Knox, its Canady, my question was valid and you didnt answer it, which actually answered my question.

IMO, it doesnt matter either way being in that district with Russell and region with Boyle and Lex Cath.

Well yes in MY opion it is a Stuid question to even talk about injuries. And as for our district you have crown Russell King because Whitley couldn't play with them. LOL well brother we are not Whitley. :ChairHit:

Yes it would hurt if Canady went down, but this team has a lot of skilled players that they would be just as good, if you build your team around one player you are just asking for trouble an that is not the case with Knox. Gist is just as hard as a runner as Canady so I think we would be just fine
#42
If memory serves me right, didn't JC start off slow the past two years with some early season loses, only to come on strong and win their district? I stick with JC until someone proves they are better come playoff time.
#43
I'm sure Knox would have players step up if Cannady went down...

but I've watched them play twice in the last two years and although that line plays pretty well - he breaks a lot of tackles, makes a lot of people miss, and stiff arms a lot of guys. Those are all things that a backup would be lucky to step up and do.

Any team that looses there best player will not be as good. However, if you look at the two proir games Barger was the MVP in the first and in the second, Gist put the team on his back as Canady was having cramps during the whole second half.
KC is not one dementional. And for any team to think if they stop Canady is all they have to do to win will have a long night.
As I said in earlier an earlier post, this was the best all around game I have ever seen Canady play.
BTW, Evans at QB and DB is not too shaby.

Thank You.
Others found that to hard to answer.

Russell will rack up 40 on Knox as well, and win that district easily.

And yes brother, you are not Whitley.

Russell will not rack up 40 on Knox. And they will not have the home field advantage that played a big part in their win last year. Quote me on that.

And any starter going down on any team is a loss. That is self-evident. The fact that one of the big posters on BGR asks this only means one thing. JC is an excellent player on a team that is causing some concern, even for the Highlands bigots who want to somehow contribute to this thread. So we will simply tip our hats to the applause.

And as for the Highlands-Boyle zealots who want the world to bow to their brilliance - I'd say shame on you if you don't win. Highlands sits in the midst of of a major city. Come to the mountains and build what KC has built on the back of a great JR program, exceptional weight lifting and conditioning system, and coaches who have created a family environment that kids feel proud to be a part of.

All Highlands can do from here is fall. And give them time... they will fall.

You are correct. JC had five offensive turnovers and basically played poor defense and was still in this game driving to win late. Look for Matney to make these improvements and quick. This is a young, but talented and balanced team. This was an early test with a playoff atmosphere. Although JC did not wn, this game will pay huge divedends down the stretch.

Knox is a great team and will suprise people. If they can grind out yardage on the ground, and mix in the pass like they did against JC, they will surprise alot of teams. Their defense is solid. I have not seen Russell play, but I think Knox has the talent to win the district this year. Time will tell.

how do you think that russell will but 40 on knox's defense?? this is by far a much better defense than last years an russell just managed 28 points. Yes Russell has Nick Britt a very fine back, Knox is much more physical than Russell, I do not think Russell will win but it will be a good game. Lets just wait til October an find out the outcome

whitley beats rock and eveyone must bow?well im not a hater on whitley ,i hope you beat bell{can you remember the last time?}but until you win a few big games it does you a injustice to hand a district title to russell due to the fact you played them somewhat close.our game last year came down to the wire and many calls were in question.we are running the ball 50% more efficient and throwing better too,and this games on our turf.i like our chances, btw i heard we get a few guys back in the next few games. and thankfully,we are not whitley.
