get it in now hater. it will be closer this year but Highlands wins football games....this is the law of the wide wide land. look it up

Who cares who wins? i guess just cov cath & highlands, all the other teams in 4A are nameless victims on the way. it might as well be basketball season
And if they are pretty girls that means your team gets dominated and beat on by pretty girls.

I only bet on sure things, and my prediction is definitely not a sure thing, more of wishful thinking...

Early look at CovCath at Highlands football game

CovCath plays at Highlands at 7 p.m. Friday in the most anticipated Northern Kentucky game of the week.

Here are a few notes from Enquirer contributor Richard Skinner:

•Highlands (4-0) has scored at least 60 points in 10 of its past 17 games against Kentucky schools.

•CovCath (4-1) hasn’t allowed over 200 yards for a Kentucky foe this season.

•CovCath defeated Beechwood 41-6 last week. CovCath’s Evan Braun had four receptions for 116 yards and two touchdowns. Senior QB Blake Bir threw for 192 yards and three touchdowns.

•Highlands senior QB Donovan McCoy threw for 408 yards and six touchdowns and also ran for a touchdown in the Bluebirds’ 61-3 win over Mason County last week.

•Highlands and CovCath have had 13 different players score points this season.

•Highlands is ranked No. 1 in The Enquirer Northern Kentucky poll, while CovCath is No. 2.

How does this sound? We win, you all have "Wide" added to your names for two weeks. We lose, I will change my avatar or do whatever you desire, be it a temporary name change, etc.

WideMiddle, especially - since you're so confident that Cov Cath will win, you will have to remove Wide from your name.

I could see it now...

What a difficult decision? Should one go to Fort Thomas for this game or stay home and watch Trinity play Indianapolis Cathedral on television?
#38
I will be there to watch Cov Cath beat the BlueBirds:redboxer:

I have seen Cov Cath Play and they look great on both sides of the ball. Highlands I think this is the year your wings get clipped.

Good luck should be a great game.TongueoliceLigTongueoliceLig

LOL, I was trying to be sarcastic on that one. I bash Cov Cath so much it was probably a shock to see me say something halfway good about them.

Anyway, WideMiddle03 - why don't you take me up on the bet???

You SCARED????????????????????????

You have seen CCH play and say they look great, but my question is have you seen HHS play? Maybe they look great too, how do you make such bold predictions if you have not seen HHS too? Why do you think CCH wins,Would like to hear your reasons for picking CCH other than because you are a fan of the school. We have heard the same song and dance for years now, this might be the year for it to have best chance to happen, but I still think HHS has too much for CCH. (I have not seen CCH play, but have heard from an old CCH coach who has watched two of their games and all of HHS games and he is confident the Birds win).

Good Game or not, its time Ft. Thomas gets knocked down a little bit. Their ego is warranted but a little overplayed. So, I can't believe I am saying this, Lets go Colonels.

That really hurt to say. I am going to the game. I have no dog in the fight, but I think this could be an equalizer of ego's for a while.

Players and staff don't toot their horns. A few "green" quacks on here don't represent the community. There is strength in humility. Any way you slice it, these Birds are kids like every other team in Kentucky and all they want is to play their best each friday and win.

Highlands by a couple of scores.

I understand that. But from an outsider looking in, the ego stems from the community not so much the player or coaches. Dale Mueller is a humble man. I know this. I have had lunch and sat in meetings with him. But from him being a great visionary and recruiter of coaches and talent. The Community runs with arrogance.

Their are a few players that I have known that was going to the county team and were persuaded to join the Bird Nation. So if I am jaded you will have to forgive me.

^ The county kids have gone to HHS, NCC and Beechwood in years past, because they and their families decided to be a part of a successful program NOW, not be part of the building program! Until last year, their reasons were valid because the direction of the program was flatline. Not until Lickert, interestingly a Highlands product, came and put his thumbprint on the program, has it made sense to be part of the rebuild! Old, old argument with me!

I went to the Trinity/Highlands scrimmage. The Rocks scored at will and their fans celebrated. I was a little jealous. It's the nature of the beast we call football.

I understand that and can appreciate it. But still a little jaded. I know a kid I won't mention any names but all of his friends went to the county. He wanted to go the county but his parents told him he had to go to Highlands. They drank the Kool-Aid because of the success they have. Moved into the Ft. Thomas neighborhood and now would not hang out with any of their old friends. Thats the arrogance part we talk about.

That's not arrogance, that's ignorance. They're certainly not taught that by the community or the program.
