It has been 15 years since mboro has beaten Bell. If they don't do it this year it could be a few years before they get another opportunity. IMO they will not get it done this year. Bell is young but still very physical!!

No matter the outcome Middlesboro needs to understand this in not the whole season and they have more to play for than just this game. They are in a situation this year to compete in the district for the first time in 3 seasons.

Topcat we agree. It has been a very long time since M'boro has even competed with Bell. I do think that they are now going to give a competitive game. The district is what M'boro and Bell need win. This game is very fun for the kids and community and a serious game for them. But in the big picture Class 2A playoffs should be the main goal.

Bell should be the favorite, but for M'boro they believe they can win, that in itself is a step forward.

Should be a good game and fun for the community and kids.

Before Dudley Middlesboro dominated. After Dudley's first few years Bell has dominated the series.

Middlesboro has won 2 or 3 times in the last 30 years or so.

Before then they dominated Bell Co. just like almost everyone in SEKY did. Bell had a few good years in the early 60's then again in the mid 70's but nothing consistent till the new school opened in the mid 80's.

Middlesboro was a good program for many, many years dating back to the 20's. After Vanhoose left in the 80's they struggled until Roark got them back on track in the mid 90's, but somewhere down the way they fell back off. Frazier is getting them back to being competitive with other teams. He has played a weak schedule to get some confidence back in the program and it is paying off.

I hope friday's game is a good clean game. Nobody needs to make it too important, players especially need to keep their cool and play the game. It is a bragging rights and money game. Nothing else.

Hopefully the teams both come out healthy.

I'm gonna say that this is the year Middlesboro does it... I still think they could do it next year if not but I think this is the year... Pittman and the Jackets are gonna roll my prediction is now Boro-34 Bell-22

Roscoe is not Coaching now. See him at some Somerset Games. He has a Son who works with the linemen at Somerset.

I've watched both teams play and I think it will be a better ball game than in recent years. However, Middlesboro won't pull off the win because of conditioning and you will see that in the 2nd half. Bell is better conditioned than Middlesboro and simply Bell is still the better team. Hope both teams can stay healthy this week.
