Belfry Pirates, Prestonsburg Blackcats, or Sheldon Clark Cardinals

Harley Rider Wrote:If Belfry didn't have there next door neighbor (West Virginia) players then Belfry wouldn't be a top team. Just do a little research and see most of their players live in West Virginia. Chapman live in West Virginia plus over half their team. If I had a opportunity to take players from another state I have a good team too. When is KHSAA going to stop the pipeline to West Virginia for Belfry. The kid who went back to Matewan is Garrett Epling isn't his brother Gerald Epling? Who is playing for Belfry. The rumor has it that Garrett played two years as a freshman at Belfry isn't that against the the rules.
DUDE, I SENSE SOME HOSTILITY....
FIRST OF ALL, YES, THERE MAY BE A FEW STUDENTS FROM WEST VIRGINIA, BUT "MOST" AS YOU SAY, IS A LITTLE DRAMATIC. AND YES, GERALD EPLING, GARRETT'S BROTHER DOES PLAY FOR BELFRY AND LIVES WITH HIS PARENTS IN PIKE CO KY..... SO I GUESS THAT MAKES HIM ELIGIBLE....
AS FOR GARRETT, HE PLAYED HIS FRESHMAN YR FOR BELFRY.... 1 SEASON. HIS GRADES DROPPED AND HE WAS NO LONGER ELIGIBLE. SO THE RUMORS THAT YOUR FEEDING ON IS FALSE.
YOU SHOULD DEAL WITH YOUR BITTERNESS OR ENVY IN THE PRIVACY OF YOUR OWN HOME AND QUIT TRYING TO BASH KIDS ON THIS SITE.

I dont mean to get off topic but this is quite intresting to me and maybe to some other people ! And I dont mean to start and argument either !

Student Enrollment at Belfry High School : 630+
City Population of Belfry: Won't even come up as a city in the Census Bureau ! Neither will South Williamson !

The City of Williamson's Population is : 3,181
Williamson High School Enrollment is : 201 (Only High School in Willamson City Limits)
Kinda Strange HUH ?
To Compare: City of Prestonsburg Population is 3,600
Prestonsburg High School Enrollment is 624
Now why dosnt Willamson High school have a close comparison to Pburg's school enrollment ?

Please someone answer this for me

YOUR RIGHT, BELFRY IS NOT LISTED IN THE CENSUS BUREAU.... IF YOU WILL GO TO WWW.HOMETOWNLOCATOR.COM YOU CAN GET A FEW NUMBERS... IT STILL DOESNT LIST BELFRY FOR WHATEVER REASON, BUT IN THE SUBDIVISION SECTION, I FOUND THE FOLLOWING NUMBERS...
MCCARR KY- CLOSEST HIGH SCHOOL BELFRY- POP: 1,968
SIDNEY KY- 12-15 MILES FROM BHS-POP: 2,892
SOUTH WILLIAMSON, KY-CLOSEST SCHOOL: BHS- POP:7,867
NOW I MAY BE WRONG, BUT THIS DOESNT INCLUDE STONE, HARDY, BELFRY OR TURKEYCREEK.
YOU HAVE MADE A GOOD POINT! ILL DO SOME RESEARCH AND GET BACK TO YOU

I'm not saying Prestonsburg is the favorite, because everyone knows they aren't. How could they be? But some of the posts on here from Belfry fans are rediculous. Prestonsburg and SC combined couldn't beat Belfry, or Prestonsburg's players wouldn't even start for SC Smile . Think about what you say.

Belfry wins it hands down!

Might compete with our middle school.

Have You not seen these teams play I think you should watch what you say until you watch both teams cause they are Very talented and I think Belfry dont got crap on them both these teams are goin give Belfry a whippin like they have never felt before :redboxer:

You have lost your mind Pburg will not even be close to Belfry, SC may give us a good game but Belfry will come out with the win.

Here's your "Did you know?"

The "New" Belfry High School is located in Goody, Ky the city "Belfry" is from the Belfry Public Library to Velocity Market which is roughly a mile and a half. So even if you DID come up with numbers of Belfry you'd get maybe 50 and over half of them are retired and sit on the porches. There are atleast 15 different cities or more that are within Belfry's boundaries for student enrollment. So think about that? Confusederved:

If you are using the US Census Bureau for your numbers, then lets look at how it breaks down.

Check out the link below. According to that, Pburg has 3612 residents, but only 225 of them are age 15-19 (high school age).

http://factfinder.census.gov/servlet/QTTable?_bm=y&-geo_id=16000US2162940&-qr_name=DEC_2000_SF1_U_QTP1&-ds_name=DEC_2000_SF1_U

Assuming all 225 of them are enrolled in high school, that leaves 399 that attend Prestonsburg High, but live somewhere else. So where do the other 399 students come from? Confusedhh:

Well those other 399 students live in David, Blue River, Middle Creek, Auxier, Bull Creek, Allen, Emma, Cow Creek ! Those towns are in the Prestonsburg School District ! Most of 'em coming from Allen Elementary cause its a Prestonsburg Feeder school !

Plus Bat Masterson your data is from 2000 mine is from 2005 !
2000 Population of Pburg was 3,612
2005 Population of Pbrug is 3,706

I love the post stating that SC was "good team because a Belfry man is coaching them". Uh, where did Belfry's coach come from?
#48
Everyone will see the great team Sheldon Clark is becoming, when its time to get the job done. We'll see who goes to the playoffs and who doesn't. Hager is a great coach.

SC...Or the Black Cats should not worry about that just yet. They should take one game at a time because who knows each one of them could be out of it.

You just answered your question of why Williamson doesn't have an enrollment close to Prestonsburg.

The point is you can't use census info to support what you were trying to say. There are too many unknowns and looking strictly at what you posted doesn't get you from point A to point B.
