Well so far in this young golf season my wife and I have played StoneCrest, Eagle Ridge at Yatesville, Cedar Trace in Batavia Ohio and around 10-12 rounds at the Oaks in Ashland.
Anyone else getting any rounds in this year so far?

I haven't been able to play yet this spring. How did you do at StoneCrest Midee?

Long story about StoneCrest. We actually didn't finish the round but are planning to head there again in the next few weeks to see if we can actually get a full round in and see the entire course.

I've been wanting to go golfing at StoneCrest for a while now and haven't got the chance to.

I have gotten in about 4-5 rounds at Booneville (Owsley County) this year. Sag Hollow. Got to saghollow.com for info about the course. Really nice 9 hole course with varied layout.

Just got home from the course for about my 30th round so far this year. Felt really good. My first tee shot right out of the box was 263 measured by sky caddie. I was excited to death.
Anyone else out there getting to play any?

I got out for my second time this year last Friday and played 9 holes at Allen and shot 8 over par.
I also come a hair away from chipping in a shot from the bunker.
Plan on playing a StoneCrest sometime this week.

In VERY good condition for a public course and I believe it was $38 w/ cart during the week ($30 for twilight). Kind of far out put really worth the drive if you have the time. Not to mention we played on a beautiful Wednesday afternoon and there wasn't anyone there.

I like Stonecrest because it is a pretty unique course. Really has a European feel which is not common in the Southeast. Back in the Pike County area it was my preference.
In Richmond I used to enjoy Gibson Bay. Never really liked Battlefield, Arlington, or The Bull though.
I have gotten to play a few courses with my job in Atlanta. My boss is a member of the Atlanta Athletic Club which is a superb course, it is by far the best course I have played. I have walked Sugarloaf (the course most celebrities in ATL live on) during the PGA event and it is an amazing course. My buddy recently played the Ocean Course at Kiawah Island and said he has never seen anything like it and he has played some phenominal courses. This is the same course they shot "The Legend of Bagger Vance".

In the past couple of years I have played Gibson Bay-Richmond, Sandy Creek- Ashland, Eagle Ridge-Yatesville, Raven Rock-Jenkins, Crooked Creek-London, A course in Cythiana and a course close to Dry Ridge and Lake Cumberland. I like to travel around and try new courses.
I play Allen a couple times a week and try to get StoneCrest in as often as I can. I played at Paintsville Monday and Shawnee-Louisville 2 weeks ago. Currently I am trying to plan a trip to the Brickyard 400 in Indy and if I get to go I am going to play at the Brickyard Crossing, the course that plays into Indy Motor Speeway.
I hear Old Silo is a good one to play and recently someone told me there is a nice course around Grayson.

I have played both and I will agree. Old Silo is a great course. (the beer cart girl wasn't to shabby) and Hidden Cove in Grayson is probably on of the best in the state.

So far this year my highlights are playing The Portsmouth Elks and Shawnee State Park! Both courses are extremely well taken care of and maintained. Shawnee has a beautiful hole on the Ohio River and The Elks has perfect greens!
Other than that I've been playing in the Texas Roadhouse League at The Oaks!
I broke 50 for the 1st time in over a year!
I absolutely rocked a drive on #4 at The Oaks with a witness and a Sky Caddie...............287yds!
Plus I got to play with FBall!

I HATE number 4 for some reason. I can never get a good drive on that one. I always end up right in the old sand traps.
I did start one up the left side Sunday. Went under the tree and had about a 70 yard wedge into the green. Best I ever did but I didn't measure it. But you gotta love the roll when it is a bit dry.
As for playing with FBALL. I'm sorry.

I am hoping to get to play at least one of them in the next few weeks and hopefully both before this fall. Sounds like Old Silo is the one I need to get to first, I like a good beer cart girl. The guy telling me about Grayson said it was a great course, is Hidden Cove pretty tough to play?

Is sag hollow golf course in Owsley co. as nice in person as it looks on their website?

You have to make sure that you play Old Silo when it is hot. That way the beer cart girl is in her bikini.:yikes:
Hidden Cove requires you to be pretty long off the tee in a few places to carry ravines but other than that if you can hit it fairly straight you should be OK. The scenery is wonderful and I have never been on that course any time that it had not been in excellent shape.

Yes it is. It is a quality 9 hole course with visions of expanding into an 18 hole course. The scenery is some of the best I have seen. It has 2 elevated tee par 3's that are nice. It is relatively cheap for a round including cart.
They have done some reconstruction of the fairway on #4 but it is regrowing nicely.
