Chappell to interview for this job? I heard he was going to interview. Since French cancelled who else has interviewed?
01-20-2019, 12:52 AM
Any news as to what came of interviews, who is the front runner?
01-20-2019, 06:11 PM
I think you will know for sure Feb 4th.
01-20-2019, 07:34 PM
Any word on who all interviewed?
01-21-2019, 04:26 PM
Heard only 3-4 applied and Chappell is the front runner by default, also heard nearly all if not all Varsity- JV players are staying at SC since it's open enrollment. If that is true I don't see how in the world they are going to play a Varsity schedule

If they get a coach in who will spread it out a little offensively theyâll get kids. Not many kids enjoy running the Wing-T.

any updates or news on coaching search

I agree. Scott Co threw 76 passes in 15 games. There will be some skill position athletes that would like to throw and catch the ball and they will have friends that will follow. I do think it will be a tough 1st year cause I would think most of the junior senior players would want to graduate from the school they started at.

Losing zero skilled players. If I was a parent it would be a no brainier for me. Even if GC has a Varsity team most games they would play would be 10 games(5 team district I think), whereas SC is going to play 14-15 games. I think in the last 10-11 years straight they have won double digit games. Maybe in 3-4 years it will equal out, but those kids at SC over the course of 3 years get to play another whole season. Passing is fun, but winning is why you play at least I hope, maybe I'm to old

Also almost sure all of the kids that started on the Freshman team last year have already enrolled at SC for next year. Middle school kids I have no info on how many have enrolled where, that's all the info I have about the situation. Will post more when I get it.

Can kids attend which school they want or is there district boundaries?

Strict boundaries for incoming Freshman and below. Current Freshman and up have choice I believe.

There are district boundaries but not strict, any kid can enroll in any school including incoming Freshman.

Schools are about 5 miles apart if that far, must have own transportation if go to school out of district. Middle schools in Scott County have been doing that for awhile

If you could attend one school and throw the ball or another and have a very good shot at winning a state title which are you picking? For at least the next two years Scott Co will be one of the 5A favorites to win a state title.

That's for sure. The spread is fun, and can get more kids involved.,

Chappell very well could be going to Scott County.

He resigned at Whitley County a few months back.

Not sure if this is a joke, or being serious. I took it as being sarcastic-lol, SC probably has been one of the top scoring teams in the state the last 10-15 years. They seem to have fun to me every time they score.

The right coach can really hurt Scott County. However, Mckee does a great job and it will take a few years to get it going at Great Crossings.

Just to be factual they weren't even close to the top scoring offenses in the state.
What they are is the #1 ADJUSTED offense for the schedule they play.

Get more kids out by running the spread?
Not many kids enjoy running the Wing T?
Do some of you really believe this crap? And you do know there are plenty of teams out there in some form of spread that are absolutely average to horrible- right?

OK- I should have said over the last 10-15 years they usually are one of the top scoring teams in the state, and mind you most of there games over the last 10 years have been running clocks. Not sure about this past year, they had to have the hardest schedule in the state last year other than Trinity. Everybody should know who the Coach is going to be, just read between the lines

If Chappell gets the GC HC he has the last laugh! Workouts perfect for him. Best wishes!

Not a joke. You read it wrong. It is fun, and can get more kids on the team involved because more of them get to touch the ball.

I believe truth. Do you know that there are also lots of horrible teams that run Wing-T? Which offenses did the past year's state championship teams run? give us a breakdown.

Beechwood: I formation base. Small spread package.
Central: I formation/ one back base with a very small poor spread package.
CAL: I didnât watch but would guess Spread with maybe a small under center package. Someone else can correct that one.
Franklin Simpson: Wing-t
Male: lines up in the spread but they might as well of been single wing. They spent most of the game in empty pounding the QB on power, counter and a little zone.
South Warren: Iâm not sure but I believe they are an under center team with maybe a small spread package. The classic Smith family offense was a one back offense under center.
Some one can correct me here but of the teams that lost in the title game.
4 spread
1 wing-t
1 full house belly based
