my dad is a coach at PC and they watched the tape right after the game and timed it. There was around 1 sec left before the "timeout" was called. The only controversy that Coach Mac was upset about was how the refs began to jog off the field and then stopped to call the timeout. But I mean if they have the timeout and there is time left then thats when your team has to step up even with the controversy. Its all on your team and Pike Centrals defence just did not step up at the right time.

I did not see any Motorola or Cingular headsets out there. How do you expect every player on the field to stop when ANY kid playing football in the the mountains is told not to stop till the whistle blows? If time out is called off the field, how does the players on the field know that? Please don't ruin a great football game with tis crap.

if a timeout is called shouldn't the whistles blow? I wasn't there but I listened on the radio. and somestimes its hard to get a decent explanation. it sounded funky though. anyways.. the game is over and if some fans feel like it was a bad call then its their opinion. so let them speak it.as for pike central, well 51 passes? come on. merchant used to be a pretty good back. let him run the ball. maguire is going to be a good qb, but idon't think joe montana could have won a game by throwing 98 percent of the game. you have to run the ball a little. this sounded like a good game. but pike central needs to step up on d and stop trying to trade score if they really want to run this offense and win the big games

I talked to coach MacNamee the other day and he told me that people are putting more into the timeout situation than what there really is, he did dispute it a little bit but told me that Paintsville should have never been that close to begin with. So it sounds to me that the only way PC lost is because they beat themselves.
