Mark Pemberton named Madison Southern HC
#31
So they lived in Estill and went to Madison County middle schools..... I see. May or may not had to do anything with football. If it was all about football, then I don't see them going to Madison Southern just to just play football anyhow. Good luck to them in their home district of Estill County. Hope they succeed in the classroom and on the field there.

Hearing he’s already resigned.
#33
Per a player he has resigned.

If there were any players on the fence about transferring. This puts MSHS in a bad spot at this point in the season, do they have anyone on staff who could step in as interim?
#35
Madison Southern literally can’t get out of their own way. The completely fumbled this entire thing!

Madison Southern has gone through more coaches in all sports than any school this size in the state. Sports aren’t the point of school, but it’s a culture builder and the is no positive culture here anymore…BIG changes need to happen at this school.

There is a post on BGP complaining about administration pushing an agenda.
you seem to share similar thoughts… has there been a lot of turnover in the admin roles or what exactly is the issue?why wouldn’t a school be more supportive of their athletic programs?

I was flat told the lead principal is a horrible leader and couldn’t care less about sports. Seems the good ole boy network in Madison county hired the TN guy. When they had Kirk right there and could have hired him in February. FTF I always in the know. He might be able to confirm.

Good people poor leaders, follow who gives money to MSHS sports and anybody around will tell you that’s a big part of the problem.

So who gave money to hire this TN coach? Seems like they had the right guy there already. Why was he passed over? Everyone I’ve talked to said they wanted Kirk to start with.

Sounds like “everyone” got their way. Is it possible administration wanted to hire someone outside of the good ol boys network?

the real question is- Did he chose to resign or was he pressured to resign?

When you don’t show up or actually move then they didn’t have much choice.

I’d say it’s more luck than getting their way. I was told Kirk has a kid on the team and why he stayed in with Pemberton so he obviously is gonna stay. Seems like admin had no choice but to hire him.

What I know of Madison County, it’s always an agenda of some sort, whether it’s school or general politics. The 55 years of dealing with people there tells me that.
