Nemiah Doderer from paintsville is getting d-1 looks especially uk. But like most ers he mountain players his size hurts him alot. As far as the dillion kid from jc lets face it matney is a good coach but has never been applauded for his kids getting his kids chances to play at the next level.

Prestonsburg's quarterback Michael Burchett is getting looked at by Wake Forest.

Is this the current angle that's being used to get players from Johnson County to go to Paintsville? This must be the new strategy that's being used at Paintsville High School. How many has your school sent to the next level in the past five years? Some of you are pathetic and will stoop to any level just to get your little shots in. At least he's not a coward.

This guy knows what he is talking about! Matney can't get anyone to the next level!

Signed,
Joey Stepp, Ian Welch, and Nathaniel Dials

Just to be safe, you do realize my previous psot was sarcastic, correct? Matney has proven to be one of the, if not the, best in the mountains at getting his kids scholrships

I take a shot at Matney "GOD" and you automatically assume i am a paintsville fan. I have a lot of respect for the man however I stand by my statement that with the talent he has had there more of his kids should be playing in college. However I must say it is the die hard JCHS fans/parents like you that worship the man that i really feel sorry for. And that why paintsville and central will never play again not because of the kids or the score its because of the parents/ fans on both sides of the field so before you call someone a coward get you facts straight please.

Will not argue with you over Joey or Nathaniel. Both great players. But if you really want to start going back to the days of Joey Stepp. The same year Joey graduated from SCHS Paintsville sent 8 of 12 senior football players to the next level.

So are you saying you’re not a Paintsville fan? Almost every single post you've made on here has been about Paintsville so I guess the proof is in the pudding. Your either drooling over Walter Brugh, talking up two 8th graders from Paintsville that know body’s ever heard of or taking "a shot" at Jim Matney. I call it like I see it and it has nothing to do with the "parents/fans on both sides" and you know it so don't come on here and start that bs. It's all about pride if you don't believe me just look at the tiggers schedule for the upcoming school year. The little boys in blue have been drilled and embarrassed since he moved to Johnson Central and that's why the cowards ended a Johnson County tradition. I don't worship the man but I do consider him a friend so if you don't like my response then don't start the crap.

I'm kind of curious as to who they were and where they went? Do you have any names? I know it may be hard to remember that long ago especially since you're not a Tiger fan but I love trips down memory lane. Could you tell me how many they've sent to the next level in the last five seasons? With the talent that Burr/Chuke, Bill Mike and Qinner has had in the past five years there should be more of there kids playing in college. Wouldn't you agree?

I'm not quite sure that this is making much sense to me. First of all you say that UK is all over him and then you say his size hurts him when it comes to getting looks. What kind of production did he have against some of the good football teams he played against? Say Johnson Central for instance? Not quite sure I remember hearing his name mentioned much in those series of games during his career.

I can also tell you for a fact that two of the best football players to come out of Paintsville and eastern Kentucky in the last 7 or 8 years had almost zero help from the Tiger coaching staff in securing a college scholarship. Both went on to play, but their parents did almost all of the work in getting them there.

If you are going to post with a bias slant just to take pot shots at Matney and JC, at least know a few of the vital facts before you attempt to spread this obviously unknowlegeable propaganda.

Would that have been the class of '99 ?

8 out of 12?

Could you be specific on who those players were?

Division 1?

EKUAlum05 Wrote:Division 1?
There have been no Divison 1 players out of Paintsville in a long time now. The closest has been Ryan Brown who signed with NCAA-1AA James Madison in 2003.

Isn't Mckinney also getting looks from Wake Forest for safety? I know they both went down last week.

Yeah, sorry about that. Both Michael & Austin went down with coach Joe Chirico on the visit.

How did things go for them? any offers

D-1, I will give everyone on here a $100.00 if there is more than 3 to sign D-1. Not in Eastern Ky.

Considering Western, Eastern, Morehead State, and Murray State are all D-1 you may want to re-think that.

Last year alone 9 players went to the above D-1 schools from EKY, all were to FCS schools, but D-1 nonetheless:

WKU
Monte Merrick, Bell Co.

EKU
Charlie Banks, Letcher Central
Ryan Bonner, Ashland

MOREHEAD STATE
Michael Campbell, Hazard
Spencer Greer, Bell County
Cody Jones, Whitley County
Zach Lewis, Clay County
Aaron Meadows, Bath County
Drew Miller, Russell

I haven't talked to Austin, but I did talk to Michael and he is considering walking-on at Wake.

cougarpride08 Wrote:Isn't WKU a d-1 school?

Yes, WKU is a division 1 bowl sub-division school.
