Sheldon Clark should be in the mix. Maybe they should be number eleven? No, I am being facetious, for I believe they should be somewhere in the top 10. But, as I have stated before on this board, predictions or forecasts do not cast in stone the outcome of where a team is going to be ranked at the end of the season. Moreover, I respect anyone's opinion, because most times they have a valid reason for said opinion.

I am obviously somewhat prejudice towards Sheldon Clark, for I have a close friend that has a SC team member, thus I have attended a few games.

Just perchance SC gets everything together this coming season, I think they can do quite well. They have a large group of returnees, both starters and young men that got a lot of playing time, and a few others that will step up and contribute. Moreover they had an inordinate amount of injuries and a couple of additional things that did not help them last season.

But they, in spite of the above, ended their season last year by playing in the state 3A semi-finals. 2010 is a whole new story and an opportunity to move SC into a position to gain respect. Last season's play-off wins, all on the road, generated a lot of enthusiasm at SC, and maybe it will carry over into this coming season. We shall see.

I have heard by the grapevine that SC has some super speed, possibly two young men that can run sub 5.0 forties. This may be true; as I said above, I heard this through the grapevine, and thus, it may not be fact but fiction and hyperbole.

Sheldon Clark, I truly think, will be one of the better 3A teams in 2010! But, again, where any team ends the year is what "really" counts.

well i guess after u make it to state-semi's u cant make it high on there if u go to SCHS. i dont really care cuz it dont matter what place ur in on this list, it matters who wins at the end of the season.
and i think bell should be #1 until sumone in the mountains stops them.

Very questionable top 10. #2-#4 puzzles me, I do not see where any of these 3 teams have the firepower to be ranked this high. #5-#8 are mainly bigger schools with most of them returning multiple players but I wouldnt rank them ahead of #9 or #10. Both of these teams are sure fire top 5 teams in the mountains.
#38
I'll say this, look at how much most of the teams in the mountains lost this past season: Prestonsburg, Belfry, Pike Co. Central, Hazard, Perry Co. Central, Lawrence County, Whitley County all lost their leaders and others who put up some very impressive numbers. I do think that Bell County and Johnson Central are without question the two top teams entering the season and I wouldn't be surprised to see some teams step up and surprise us all this season, much like what Lawrence County and Prestonsburg did in '09.

You realize this is football?

On a side note: I dont think anyone should count out Belfry, Coah Haywood will have them ready to play ball

Somerset beat Pulaski and made it to the State Championship game and you have PC 5 places ahead of Somerset??? C'mon now!

You should be. I assume the speech team was who the poster was referring to as it is the only team that fit the description.

No team fits his post! I don't think he's a KCC fan anyway!:eyeroll:
#45
bell County at number 1
#46
Bell Co will be number 1 ever year in the Mountains until a Mountain team actually beats us. We havent lost one since 2006.

Bell will dominate next season.:1:
I expect to see them in Bowling Green, unless LamaR Dawson has something to say about it. (bell co fans have to know who I'm talking of)

I do not see why people are leaving SC out. They are returning most of their team. They have probally the best line in the mountains. Plus a running back who was one of the top sophmores in a national combine. They lose their QB. No offense to him but he was plagued by turnovers. They also lose Matt Slone who was injured half of the season with a broke back. I will put them ahead of Belfry and JC until proven otherwise. Come end of the season JC and Belfry will most likely pull ahead but not out of the gate. I put Pburg in there at number 10 because they lost alot. However Pburg always finds a way to win.

I thought the QB was a junior last season? Am I wrong?

True they did, it went down to the last play after PC lost 2 of the best players. and they didn't have to play a team the caliber of Highlands to get to the State Chamionship game, and they didn't play well when they got there. Now, understand I am not taking away their accomplishments, but I think Pulaski deserves to be where they are...
#54
There sure are going to be a lot of disappointed folks this coming season.

I really am shocked that a lot of people aren't even putting LCC in the top 10 this year. Do you guys really think we will not win our district this year? Come on!

1)Bell Co
2)Johnson Central
3)Sheldon Clark
4)Letcher Central
5)Belfry
6)Corbin
7)Harlan Co
8)Hazard
9)Somerset
10)Lawerence Co

I think the district will be wide open again this year. I guess thats why the play the games. But I do agree that Letcher will be a Top 10 team.

I would really be surprised if they're not in the top ten. too much talent.
#58
So Letcher Central has more talent than Pulaski? Really? It didn't show up last year in the Region championship game. Pulaski is a good team. I think better than Letcher. My opinion, though. I know not the same district but if you put Letcher on there then you have to put Pulaski on there.
#59
I dont know who Pulaski is bringing back from last years team or what kind of freshman they will be bringing in. But if they are better than Letcher than they will definitley be in the top ten. 'Cause Letcher will have a tough team to beat.
#60
The senior class that Pulaski is losing will be missed. With that said, everyone of of them are being replaced with kids who have game experience. They have most of their Offense back ( Eastham QB and Abner RB) as well as most of their line. They good fast receivers in McQueen and Letner. Their defense is pretty much intact with the exception of losing Tyler Stone, but they have Senior Mason Flynn - 3yr starter filling- his position. Essentially they are reloading for another district/Region/hopefully state run this year.
