All who start should dring a big boost to the O and D this week. Watch out though Roark to Riddle is becoming a big thing.
Roark passed for 21 of 31 and 346 yards with 5 TD's against Clay Co.
According to M'boro stat page the only kid back is Epperson? The rest of those kids have played in aleast 3 or 4 games each per stat page. So just wondering...

Collins got hurt in the Gridorama.
Akers got hurt in the Alcoa game sat out Lee High game. Wasnt even 50% against LCC, Clay Co so they decided to rest him with his knee injury.
Epperson still hasnt played
Frost got hurt in the Clay Co game sat out for Lee High game.
Womack first game back the whole year was Lee High game.
All these players havent played together in 1 game yet this year. This week they will.

Its some what confusing. Only point I was making was all 5 of these starters haven't been on the field at the same time yet. They have been pretty darn good too considering this.

We look forward to the challenge, the better they are will only make us better, so I hope they are full strength:Thumbs:

Wish I could watch this game but have the Bell game to attend. I still think you guys will beat Middlesboro. KC has a tough D. If you shut down the pass game anyone can beat the boro this year.

Can't judge that ability by Williamsburg they don't have the size to slow us down, M'boro will. I am very nervous about this game. Not sure if M'boro can stop our run game?I understand your point on this but here is a fact many overlook - often our passrush is not as good as it could be intentionally. Our outside rushers were coached not to push up field and press the QB in a game or two. That will not be the case in this game or Bell as that strategy does not fit here.
I never agree with that strategy but the coaches have yet to ask for my opinion. To me, it is foolish to have a great athlete "bear crawl" or "hold ground". Turn that dog lose and tell him to find meat. But that is how I played in HS and College. Some coaches still see Line as interference for Linebackers. That in my ever so not humble opinion is absolute rubbish that wastes great players. But it is a tradition that lives in this area.

Frazier knows a thing or 2 about KC coming from Bell so I think the game will stay close. Should be a fun 1 and could be high scoring.

i think this will be a great game im not goin to predict a score but knox central db's stoped hooker kept him in single digits yds if someone is questioning there pass defense and middlesborro had the game won against clay in manchester cant wait to watch this one and see kc's defense do work

If we pin our ears back and rush, QBs have their personal safety to be concerned with more than pass completions and our DBs get to intercept the wounded ducks.

Different type of passing game. Clay throws the ball down the field and holds on to it longer so pattern can develop. M'boro is quick rythym passing team the ball will be gone in less than 3 seconds hard to threaten personal safety that quick.

IT will be on 96.1 FM. It is also Alumni night so I want to invite all Alumni out to the game. WE will tailgate prior to the game. You will see a gate marked for Alumni. Please come by and let us know who you are there so we can reconize you at half time. We are trying to get a Alumni club started they will be info at the game about it. BTW my prediction is a 3TD win. KC has gotten better each week and will also have another contributer to the team this week. KC has had every QB that they have played against on the run and I don't think this week will be any different

Not been around any past couple of weeks except for games who is the new guy you are talking about? Or is it a injured player returning.

First game in Blue and Gold. He's not likely to start but is a versatile player who can help in multiple positions on O an D.

Short passing game starts to feel like a running game. I agree with your concerns. But aside from the center #62 (saw them after the JC game) their line will be undersized to deal with our DLine. The center is a brute of a child. But he can only help on one. The other will be free.
Short passing games do however put pressure on outside linebackers to cover backs and short dumps to TE. That is a place where we should be strong as well - but no team has used that type of attack on us to date. So, we will see.

The Jackets have already caught the attention of many! This is a really tough line to predict. I would think if QB Roark could spread the ball around and mantain possession offensively while avoiding turnovers the jackets will be fine offensively. THe question is can they stop the ground game of knox central if the do those two things fraziers boy's have a chance to get a big W if not than it will be just the opposite with the panthers winning handily

Forgot about him. You think he can actually help us? I think Special teams this year maybe? Not sure where he fits in the picture this year. Not in the backfield and not at DE.

He caught some big passes (circus catches) in camp at 7on7 stuff so he adds a 4th threat there. He adds depth to our DB corps as well. Utility player for sure this year who will provide a breather to several starters. Glad he is up.

You are right about their passing game. If their attack is balanced it will slow the pass rush and force the defense to read and not guess. That is harder for any defense.

Thanks.. I guess we will find out friday night if middlesboro can keep mills and his D honest with a balanced attack.

If I am an opposing coach, I pray you let your big dog come rushing up the field and create running lanes for my backs to slip into. HB draws will eat a team up with that mentality.
The reason KC has experience success thus far is attributed to the fact the D-line works as one unit and holds ground(gap assignments) so the backers can come up and make the plays. Coach Mills is no dummy, he understands this concept and will continue to do this. Blitzing has its place and time during games and will be utilized.

Keep in mind my beef with that strategy is on "Pass Plays". When a DLine reads pass they need to rush the QB. Not hold ground or occupy a gap out of fear that the QB will run the ball. In college, we had one DT "hold ground" to protect agains draws and screens but the other 3 went for meat. I still think that is the better strategy.
Case in Point: last year we played Rock and they had a huge lineman who "bear crawled" the whole game. I was delighted as a Knox fan but as a coach and previous college DT - I was saddened to see such a great talent turned into a gopher. All bear crawling accomplishes is tying up the blocker. How about doing two things at once by beating the blocker and getting to the football?

KC wins in OT.
Be careful Middlesboro's kicker butted a 48 yarder tonight and went over the net the hit the Coca-Cola building. Middlesboro can get a easy 3 if they get to atleast the 30 yard line. He also has had a ton of kickoffs into the endzone this season.
Middlesboro's kicker also kicked a 33 yarder in the same game as this one. 6 points in one game off FG's.

Surprise's with the close scores predicted. I think both have good offense's. It depends on who' s defense shows up and turnovers will be key.

Thats the down fall for Middlesboro. They have given up alot of points this year, which alot came against the JV D, but it still counts. 64 just from the Alcoa game and 43 against Clay Co.
Middlesboro has put up big numbers against Clay Co and Lee High. I really dont know what to expect since the starters will be back. Will they help on the D and is that why Boro's D hasnt been up to par is because of these starters being out. We shall know come Friday night.
Wish I could attend this game but have my own to attend!
I still say KNOX wins though due to their D.
