The 1994 Bobcats of Bell Co beat the 1994 Bobcats of Breathitt like a drum in the playoffs 35-0.
So I don't think the 95 or 96 teams would have fared any better.

i dont think any of those teams could have beaten the pikeville panthers in 87', ive heard from people who played against them then and they say they were nationaly ranked in the top 20.

I dont think anyone could of beat the 87 Panthers either. Coach Howard went out and spent a ton of money to get those guys. I dont know if the Cincinnati Bengals put out any more money than Pikeville High did that year. Best bought team ever in Eastern Kentucky.

Well, it is true that teams have seniors that graduate unless Bell has something going on down there with holdbacks in high school. Besides that Breathitt probably had more total offensive yards that night and was in the redzone all night and just couldn't stick it in. Also, if you did know the 95 Breathitt team beat the team in Franklin Simpson that could've beat the team that won 3A that year (Bowling Green) if it had not been for a failed two point conversion at Bowling Green. I know you can't go on who beat who or whatever but I'll say that nobody and I mean NOBODY wanted to play the 97 Breathitt team on a fair playing field. This does include Mr. Hilton who said it was the best high school team he had ever seen.

Man ap, you've definitely got a burr under your butt towards Highlands. A comment on the Highlands vs Highlands post but no mention of the other posts calling for Perry Central vs Perry Central, Bell vs Bell and Brethitt vs Brethitt. You need to let go of what ever is causing you to hate on Highlands. It's not healthy.

But that Franklin team didn't beat Bowling Green in 1995. BG went undefeated that year and beat Franklin along the way and would have beat Breathitt too. They were the best team in the state in 1995 in all classes. Best team Bowling Green has ever fielded.

2003 Belfry vs. 2010 JC Eagles...
I'd just like to see those styles of play go head to head, and see the rushing battle between the David Jones and JJ Jude. Of course you can't forget the other Belfry back, don't know why I can't remember his name. But the speed on that field would be awesome. It'd also be cool to watch the battle of the lineman, both have/had great lineman on both sides of the ball.

I don't get that logic.
Does that mean Bell Co. couldn't have been that good considering they went 0-2 vs. Prestonsburg this decade ?
(the answer, of course, is...logic/comparisons like this are pure nonsense)

Well, I don't know how you think they would've beaten Breathitt that year, I'm not hating on Bowling Green, but Franklin lost to them by one and Breathitt by seven. Yeah, it was in overtime, but the game they lost to Bowling Green was at Bowling Green so the world may never know, but I wouldn't say they would've beaten Breathitt, I'm not saying that Breathitt would've won, but I know where my money would lie and it wouldn't have been with the purples.
