I google mapped it. There is a Fairfield KY near Bardstown.
#64
Fairfield, KY Population 72. It's in Nelson County.
#65
That Believe In the Wood stuff has to stop. Damn it's annoying.

Don't forget getting the best of Belfry in your statement as well. Lol.

Ill take it. Both have had our number since 07. Hopefully with some of the young talent we have coming up we turn that back around in both cases.

Yea, Russell is Russell... they will never be down for very long. Also, do you have any news on Coach McGlone and next year. He is a true class act and I wish him the best.

I am so proud of my Mayfield Cardinals, its has been a real treat to watch them this year. Congratulations to Fairview this year, you have nothing to hang your heads about, and that big trophy you guys get to bring home will definitely serve as a reminder to future ball players and will build pride in the school.

It was weird, I thought Fairview's offense was good but the defense was very good, based on video I had seen of them, granted it was highlight video. But it was the opposite for me, Fairview's running game overall prob was the best Mayfield has seen this year, #44 was TOUGH, no doubt about that. The biggest problem I saw with Fairview was the defense, they just seemed to be lost out there, especially in our screens, sure Fairview will hit you, but no wrapping up, so our players just bounced off and kept on going.

The turnovers definitely were a big factor, but you can credit Mayfield's D for a few of those. All that aside, its been a great season and the Fairview folks seemed to be a very classy bunch and that is where it starts if you ask me.

Fairview really did take a big step in building their program today. It wasn't very long ago they were just that school district kinda in between Ashland and Russell... now they have proven themselves.
#73
Congrats Mayfield!

If you look at their schedule they havent faced a back like Jackson. Look at the Playoffs starting with the second playoff game. 330 yards rushing, 160 yards rushing 250 yards rushing and the championship 280 and 340 all purpose. Over 1000 yards rushing in the post season. That is freakish. Just think he is all state on defense not offense. He is one of the best all around football players i have ever seen. On the HS level.

As far as I know he plans to keep on coaching. Next year will be rough. I look for them to have a year much like Pikeville had this year. I think you went to the Kiwanis Bowl. Many of those kids will probably be starting varsity next year. After that they should be pretty good.

Yea we were at the Kiwani's Bowl this year, it was our first one ever. That group of kids will be good in a few years.

Saw this one firsthand and it was tuff to watch. Fairview played like a team there for their first time. It didn't help that Mayfield had a very balanced, talented, and focused team.

I hope I am not a bad sport for bringing it up. But the refs held back when Brewer OBVIOULSY kicked a Mayfield player after a late 4th quarter fumble. Kid seemed like all heart, so I am glad he wasn't tossed, but honestly he should have been.

Congrats to Fairview on the best season in school history!

Spirit will be upset with you.

I gotta say it is impressive that Mayfield held Turner and King to around 50 yards each. King is really good in the open field. I haven't seen it but it sounds like Mayfield did an excellent job of not letting him get there.

Mayfield was head and shoulders better than everybody else in 1A this year. Beechwood and Fairview were probably 2 and 3. Pikeville, Raceland, Hazard, Frankfort and Williamsburg would have been in the next group. I'm ready for next year already. A lot of good teams strive for one trophy.

Ok I'm here Mysonis55. Like I said I dont' run and hide. I want to start by saying congratulations to Mayfield and all the Mayfield coaches, players and fans. From what I could tell about this game speed and stuff like that had nothing to do with it. The Mayfield O and D lines were head and sholders better then the Fairview lines and if you have a good line it makes every player on the team better. The Mayfield lines blew Fairview back on just about every play. I will have my plate of crow now.Confusednicker:
