Raceland @ Somerset 9/28

KYHSFBFan Wrote:Maybe, maybe not.. Who's to say that Somerset wouldn't have settled in and started playing better and made a game of it? You can't just assume one way or the other..

Somerset had 34 yards and Beechwood was running the football at will. You can chalk it up to the bus ride, or Somerset having a bad night, but that game was headed to a running clock. The lightning rolling in was the only thing stopping it.

Somerset 27-20

Well, after the Ashland game I said, "We won't lose another regular season game this year." So, I'll stand by my statement and predict a close game but a win for Raceland.

I think the Rams take a barnburner 28-27.

I think i may just put a knot on everybodys head big enough to pitch off of when i get to somerset friday!

I was watching film for this week. There’s gonna be more balls in the air than an all male acrobatic show in Vegas.

The kid that became eligible will make a big difference in this one on both sides of the ball rams 20-14

I agree. He gives us a vertical threat on both sides offensively. with him now on the field, it gives us one of the best groups of WRs to come out of Raceland in a long time. Heighton is taking really goid care if the football and not forcing throws. Hunter and Judd are Hunter and Judd. My only concern at this piint in the season is getting better containment. Our pass rush is solid, but if we dont get the sack, we give up an awful lot of yards ro a scrambling QB last week. we gotta get better up front in that regaurd, especially when seeing 3 and 4 WR sets. Special teams is improving week to week. while the kick offs arent great, coverage is getting better. Gotta do the little things right against a team like Somerset.

Best group of skill kids Raceland has had in a while. Two really solid backs. Two outside receiver threats. Wallace and D. Adkins are great inside guys.

That’s about as good of a group of skill guys they’ve had in a long time. Not to mention this QB has the potential to be as good as any they’ve had there. I’m definitely buying Ram stock in 1A.

Yes but the only thing that makes me scratch my head is why do we put our packs in the slot? I believe we need to keep one in to block all the time! With our receivers we don’t need a back out there running routs! We got two or three more guys that can catch the ball other then the names that were mentioned by Scotty.Just a thought ....not complaining. I think Mike is doing some great things this year.We haven’t ran a trick play in awhile....let’s keep it that way!! Go Rams

Well, we ran 2 Friday night; 1 was successful and 1 failed. I won't get into specifics on here but trust me.

Go Rams!

i like seeing the backs used in the recieving game, but i get what u r saying. seems like they are only used as recievers in a single back set or they r in the slot. its all probably just trying to get the ball to those kids in more creative ways. We are averaging over 400yds a game and just under 40points a game. and doing so with balance and taking care of the football so its hard to gripe too much. I have really been suprised with the play calling this year as apposed to the last couple that got pretty predictable at times. in the past i was able to just about call each play beforenthey ran it, this year i have been suprised several times. more often than not really. I really like the mentality this team has as well. Just gotta get over the sluggish starts.

A grading system that predicts game winners by grading each position. It predicted Mayfield to beat Corbin 50-27 while the actual score was 45-21. Below

IMTU -
I ask around about its origins and was surprised at what I learned. Current DC at VA Tech, Bud Foster, a Murray State linebacker from Somerset took a defensive coaching job at Murray State in the late 1980' or early 1990's after he graduated. He as a grad assistant and as a defensive coach at Murray started development of IMTU. He ask former Murray State team mate Tony Franklin, a offensive specialist from Caldwell County to try it out at Calloway County where Franklin was a new head coach. One of the 2 tweaked it for several years until finally fine tuned it. Franklin took a assistant coaching job at Mayfield and introduced it Mayfield. Foster took it to VA Tech

Today it is very popular with KY HS coaches

So, who does IMTU pick in this one?

No idea, you will have to go to your coach and see how you graded assuming you all use IMTU. It uses a algorithm to predict outcome from how each position grades out.

Coach Franklin designed half the states offenses

We were mocked somewhat last week when we used IMTU to pick the Mayfield/Corbin game. You would’ve thought they never heard of the system. They now are trying to change their whole system to one based on IMTU.

Thanks for the info. After speaking to our coaches, IMTU has Raceland winning 35-21. I will be curious to see how accurate this system works for us.
