But some may have forgotten that Rick sang this hit song 60 years ago as a 17 year old in the group The McCoys. RIP, Mr. Derringer.
The Ohio state legislature once voted this song as the official state song of Ohio. It was a staple at Ohio State football games.

Guarantee Jet likes this forgotten gem from the mid '80's. The incomparable voice of Phillip Bailey(EW&F) and the unmistakeable drumming of Phil Collins, who once said he was probably more proud of his drumming on this song than on any of his work. Great song from that great '80's era.
My man Sammy Hagar doing lead vocals on this Montrose classic. Sammy still does this one in concert. Ronnie Montrose is one of those great, mostly forgotten, guitarists.
Rod has one of my favorite rock voices of all time, and this song always got to me.

Van, I've always loved that raspy, rock voice like Rod , Kim Carnes, Bonnie Tyler, Janis Joplin. Love it.

Donald Fagan was a student at Bard College in NY in the early 70's , when he met a girl by the name of Rikki Ducornet at a party. Donald eventually slipped the girl his phone number and asked her to call him sometime. Rikki was intrigued by Fagan , but , after considering it , never called him. Two reasons why she probably decided not to call. One, she was married to one of Fagan's professors at Bard College and second, she was pregnant. Still, we all benefitted from that chance encounter with the birth of the classic Rikki ,Don't Lose That Number , inspired by Fagan's chance encounter and infatuation with Rikki Ducornet.
Today, Rikki Ducornet is an accomplished writer, poet and artist , whose work has been recognized with a Nation Book Award nomination.
And now you know... the REST .. Of the story. Now enjoy this classic once more from the best year for music ever--- 1974 .

Wonder if Granny Bear can sing? I bet that sweet blue-haired vixen has a raspy, sexy voice like these three that are near and dear to my heart.

Another 80's crush of mine, Rindy Ross, with a forgotten gem from the 80's . Rindy's sax playing made this a memorable track.
