With what I saw out of Breathitt last night, I think they have a great shot going into CAM and beating Belfry. Estill is one of the most smash mouth football teams around EKY and Breathitts defense shut them down. Both teams has played JCHS and who really cares, that was that game, this game is Belfry vs Breathitt not Belfry vs JCHS or Breathitt vs JCHS. Belfry hasnt played against Channing. The kid is huge. With Jade being back to 100%, Belfry also has to watch out for him to pull the ball some and run. Then our passing attack that has showed up over the last couple games. I read on here where alot of people was questioning Jades arm strenght and all that good stuff and Im pretty sure that he has proven them wrong. He has been very accurate with his passes and has ran this offense of ours to perfection. I like how people say that Belfry has Breathitts number, I dont know if someone has already posted this stat but its a pretty important one, Belfry and Breathitt has played 5 times, Belfry has won 2 times, Breathitt has won 3 times. Alot of the kids from last years team were on that team last year when Belfry gave up that whooping at the CAM. The Bobcats hasnt forgotten about that and nore has Channing whos brother Coldy had his worse game of the season. I think the Bobcats will come into the CAM and come away with the win. No prediction of a score from me just yet but this game I dont think anyone is going to run away with. Breahitt pulls it out by 3 to 7 points. Not sure which one yet.

I would think that they have played more than that over the years. They at one time were in the same district. Does anyone have the all time record or is this it?

So, basically what your saying that the 2 players mentioned in your above post will handle Belfry easily and then travel to the ville and take on Central to win state? They don't need the rest of their team? I got news for ya... there are 11 players on the field... NOT 2.... It will be a team effort and Coach Haywood will throughly prepare the Pirates to take care of business and do what needs to be done. You honestly can't pick out 1 player on Belfry's team and say they are the ONE....The TEAM is the one!!! They work together and take care of business and do as they have been taught to do. TOGETHER!
OH... BTW... I did notice you mentioned about going to state before... wasn't that as a 2A as Belfry was when they won as well? Okay, this is now 3A and how many have you been to since going up a class?

No childish talk from me.... I just quite simply asked a couple of questions.... AND .... So, your saying when it comes both Breathitt and Belfry they are weaker now that they are 3A then when they were 2A? I'm not being sarcastic here but curious!

I am a Breathitt fan, yet I think Belfry wins this one by at least two touchdowns. I have followed every Breathitt game this season, if not in person at least on the radio, and as always defense and special teams is the weakest part of this team. For some reason we cannot cover kick offs. Point: in the Harlan game we started kicking it out of bounds. I just hope we can keep it close and maybe have a shot at the end.

If Breathitt goes to louisville they will get killed by central. I think that central is the best 3A school in the state. And when belfry saw them last year they were shocked about how fast they were. And the only team that can beat central is belfry. Because they will want there revenge from last years tittle game. And to tell you the truth last year belfry over looked central and thought it was going was going to be handed to them last year.

if you all don't have a good D-fence then we will have a ton of rushing yards befor half time

I am not saying that two of our players can handle anyone. I was just throwning out names thats all. Breathitt plays as a team, I think they could care less who is put into the papers or on posts on boards like this one. A team is a team, not two people. I think what Bull was trying to say is that there was more compotition when we only had 4 classes instead of 6. I mean you have more teams with losing records getting into the playoffs and getting killed.

lol.. and you haven't been back since 2002. Its 08'. My question is what happened in 03, 04, 05, 06, 07?? AND MOST IMPORTANTLY.. How many boys are on your team this year, that played on any of those 3 state championship teams? Thats right none.
Bring your team to Belfry. Your gonna be dissapointed, in a big way.
Oh BTW, I guess you guys will never get to see beautiful Papa Johns Cardinal Stadium EVER

Im just saying. what does it matter who has won what, when no one on the team has expierienced winning a State Championship. Your State Championships mean as much as ours do in this game, none. These boys who play now have to go make thier own name for themselves.

This kind of just hit me, but none of the players for either team have a state championship ring.
The seniors on these teams were in the 8th grade when Belfry last one a title, and in the 6th grade when Breathitt last won theirs.

yulp, thats what I was saying. These boys haven't got to feel what its like to stand at the end of the state championship game, and hold that trophy.

Belfry is just too much for Breathitt... I'll take Belfry by 3+ touchdowns.

Anyone that thinks this game will even remotely resemble last year's thrashing will be rudely shocked. Belfry caught the majority of the breaks in last years game and the score could have been much closer if a few things went the Bobcats way. I can honestly say ive never seen two teams with bigger momentum playing each other. Belfry looks like the Belfry weve all seen the past 5 years and Breathitt is clicking on all cylinders.
Fugate is a stud and Haddix seems to be coming into his own. If the defense can play like they did this past week this game will come down to the wire. Belfry has a stable of running backs that may not be matched in the entire state. The o-line has meshed together beautifully and the d-line has been stellar. This game matches the strengths of both teams against one another. Breathitts running game and up and coming passing attack against a defensive line of Belfry that can cause havoc. The key to me will be how well the LBs of Breathitt play. They seemed lost last year, not recognizing where the play was going and if this happens again it could get ugly. The difference could quite well be the improvement of the Breathitt offense against a Belfry defense that isnt as dominant as it was last year. To see another blow out like last year one team would have to play an awful game fundamentally. Turnovers and missed assignments could spell doom for either team.
Before i get jumped by any Pirate followers, let it be known that I am a proud Belfry supporter and former player and would love nothing more than to see the outcome resemble last year. I just dont see it. Prove me wrong Pirates.

I think this one will actually be close. Breathitt has been playing very well and should come in with an attitude after what happened to them last year. In the end I think Belfry just has a little too much for the Bobcats.

Seriously read your post. You say Belfry is the only team that can beat Central.....yet you say if we beat Belfry we can't beat Central. So if we beat the ONLY team(Belfry) that can beat Central;shouldn't that mean we can beat Central too?
