 I guess you could say I got burnt out on it. I enjoy watching it but all those spring and summer days of pepper in the backyard and batting practice at the field took its toll on me. My brother though, he lives for it. I couldn't tell you how many times at a Reds game I've had to tell him to hush up because he would just sit there and play Sparky Anderson, questioning every single situational play then trying to tell me what he would've done.

Ridge Runner Wrote:Hey, everyone. I just got off the phone with a dear friend named "OTH". And I was just informed that I had hurt some friends of his, who thought I was he. Well, This is not he.
I would also like to apologize publicly to OTH and those whom I offended. That was NOT my intent. I guess I just chose my words poorly and was alittle miss informed. I am a true Blue Fan. Always have been and always will be. I thought I was just passing along some information to everyone. Not once did I speak down on a kid or any of his teammates. I have no kids in this fight......at least not for quite awhile anyway....lol. Again.....HOOK and your Tiger friends I AM SORRY!

Now, back to the subject though.

I "Heard" today that 2 more players quit. Is this true? Who? And if so..could someone pleeeease tell me what is going on?

As Dale said. This was a very good young group of kids.

AND AGAIN....My fault on poor choice of words...SORRY.

Tell Timmy I said good Luck Thursday Hook!

No problem playa. It's all good and I still love ya!

Are you serious about kids quitting? What's going on that has things so shaken up over there in tiger ville?

I hate to see kids quit anything. However, if they don't want to be there, then I am sure the coaching staff does not want them there either. The worst case is when kids are forced to quit due to their parents forcing them to quit. I am not sure that is the case here with all or any of the kids but from what I have been told it was the case with at least one. And all of this stuff I am hearing about kids quitting due to not playing the position they want or not getting enough playing time or not enough touches....What ever happened to working harder in practice, sending time after practice to get better, spending time in the off season to better yourself, basically making a statement to the rest of the team that "nobody is going to out work me, I want to play and there is nothing that is going to stand in my way." No we don't see that much nowadays, now if you don't get what you want; quit, transfer, work even less in practice, basically quit while still "on the team." As a good buddy of mine always says about that type of situation Player A has "quit but not told anybody yet." If I were a coach and I told Player X to play this position and he said he would not play that position, he would not have the chance to quit because he would be off my team. You can not win with attitudes like that not 25 years ago, not now, not ever. That type of attitude will dissolve any type of team unity there may be in place. It’s a sad situation to be put in but those type of attitudes must hit the road or your season, program, job, will suffer. If those are the type of attitudes that quit, then I would assume that Paintsville is a better football TEAM this week than they were last week. It was a simple case of addition by subtraction.
