Good luck Russell!

I just hope that the Russell player's while they play hard keep their heads on straight and do not get into any extra activity during the game.

Breathitt has a weak special teams and that could be the difference in this one.

:devilflam The Fugates and Haddix will have a whole new understanding of the word PAIN when they come across the middle and run into Rice, Foster and Jones.
Red Devils take pride in punishing their opponents. If you don't believe me just ask some of the players from Breathitt Co's 2002 team. They were lucky to get away with a win against the Red Devils of 2002.
I've been waiting for this game for 5 years and I'm glad it's finally here.
The 2002 Breathitt team had put up tons of points against their opponents coming into the game against Russell. Their schedule was somewhat weak that year compared to Russell's. Much the same as this year.
Russell came out and completely silenced the Breathitt Co Fans for 3 quarters that night. I sat in the press box and you could have heard a pin drop. They were dumbfounded. I called it "Pan-Delirium". Mass Confusion!
A funny thing happened before the game too. While Russell was taking the field Louie Gabbard, as he had done for years, hauled the Russell Boosters PA to Jackson and while Russell was warming up he powered up the PA and started playing Russells Pre Game music from the visitor side. At the same time Breathitt Co's fixed PA was playing a bunch of karaoke songs sang with words about how great Breathitt Co was that year.
The PA announcer, after hearing the music turned to me and said, "Where's that music coming from?". I then pointed out Russell's PA on the opposite side of the field. He then said, Well I'll fix that and went over to his power amp and Cranked it Up! This absolutely fried his Amp. That is why, if you remember, there wasn't any PA announcer during the game.
The difference this year will be, the PA will work and Breathitt won't have a comeback! :redboxer:

There d is the worst thing they have.
Estill moved the ball on them.
Paintsville made them take another look at them self.
Their defense is what will decide this game.

The limited amount of yards that Estill moved the ball on Breathitt speaks tons about the Breathitt defense. This Estill team leads the state in ALL classes in rushing for the season. This is also mostly the same Estill team that came to Russell in 06 and moved the ball against the state runner up.

If memory serves me right. We had linebackers in the backfield alot that night. When we stopped sending the linebackers in the fourth is when we lost the 15 point lead. Morris has a very good memory and he is a great mind of the game. You can be assured the QB will not be comfortable. Win or loose Russell will be well coached and ready for the Bobcats.

We did but he just scrambled away and had all day to pass.We could never fully get pressure on haddix.I don't think we even got close to sacking him all game. Like the td to tie that game up and send it to ot on the deep ball he had all day back there to find the guy.

Haddix was also a force up the middle on the keeper as he was a big guy looked to be about 6'2 220-230 to me.

I've seen number 12 breathitts qb this year hes no where as big as haddix.
11-20-2007, 10:07 PM
This should be a game to be talked about for a while. By far one of the better games of this week. I think that it will be very evenly matched and it will be a pure dog fight until the very end. I see bobcats taking this one but not without a paying for it, thats for sure.

Russell just needs to grind the ball out and keep the ball out of Breathitt's hands.

Yes Justin Haddix the guy who went on to play at Western Kentucky and put up some good numbers there.

He was the qb last 3 years at Western and had over 2100 yards passing last year and close to 2000 the previous 2 years. I think he graduated now though.

Russell has great special teams, kicking, punting, returns especially. Last couple of teams haven't kicked deep though, and I expect Breathitt will do the same, seeing how Russell cant seem to field an onside kick.

Lets hope for a game like the Russell vs. Belfry in 2005. A great atmosphere with a big crowd making a lot of noise. A lot of hard hitting. And most of all Russell coming out on top. I also hope this team will compare to the 2005 team in the way that they would play up to their level of competition when they got deep into the playoffs.
