Try to act surprised but Jack Lambert knows exactly what happened and what the call shouldâve been. Jesus Christ.

I donât agree with posts that âBoyle would have scored moreâ and I donât agree with âWe should have wonâ the end result is the end result. These types of posts accomplish nothing aside from arguments that lead nowhere. Boyle could have stopped belfry on those drives if they didnât fumble. We donât know. Belfry could have drove them all in and won. We dont know. But the end result is all the same. Leave it all on the field. The players do. But what do I know?

I tell you waht I do know even without a better angle on the video. Boyle outscored Belfry 41-14 from that point on. PLay better the rest of the game and you win, stop making excuses. You are starting to sound like a normal program. Normal programs make a lot of excuses. Championship programs evaluate and respond.

I don't guess any of the fumbles could have possibly been caused by timing of trying to get the jump on the speedy Boyle County defense. I'm sure they just handed the ball to them 5 times.

Probably time to let this die... here's my final thoughts
At the end of the day Boyle County won by 17 points.
Boyle kneeled on another score, Belfry had what should have been another score wiped off the board.
Fumbles included, I think a 17 point margin is an accurate spread between these two teams.
I don't know why the need for some type of moral victory from some of the Belfry people. I also don't understand some of the grandstanding from some of the Boyle people (although to be fair they didn't start it).
At the end of the day Boyle County proved to be 17 points better than Belfry in a game that could have been closer or more lopsided in the same breath. That's what the record books will always say.
That's how football works. Things happen, unforced errors are made, bad calls are made, someone blows an assignment, injuries happen... but by and large they usually cancel out and you are left with the result of which team deserved to win.
Turnovers, Penalties, and Field Position. Three disciplines Belfry could not afford to lose to knock off Boyle, they lost all three. That is the story of the game and why the Final Score was 41-24, credit to Boyle for executing enough that they didn't lose those three things and that is primarily why they won.

Youâre are the champ at indirect ways to get people to be a hypocrite haha. For that, I like ya! Hah. As far as the fumbles go, not talking what would have resulted or any of that crap. There were some that were caused or forced by Boyle. There were others that belfry just threw it down pretty much. But in the end. The football gods donât care. A fumble is a fumble. Iâve never stated they were forced or unforced. Itâs the same in my book. Could you play that game 10 times and get a different winner every time? Yep. Could belfry win all 10? Yep. Could Boyle? Yep. But we only play one.

Belfry was the better team. We moved the ball at will and if not for the fumbles we win. Period. Our defense forces numerous 4th downs, but due to the short field Boyle went for it and converted in a number of them. If not for the fumble and shirt field they punt on a number of these. The pass interference call which was crap combined with the short field and 4th down conversions was our down fall. We also missed a couple of interceptions where the ball was just thrown up. We play 10 games we win 7 of them

But I will defend Boyle on this. That wasnât pass interference. No level would have called that one. It would be no different if a defender was standing still and a WR went up and got it and knocked him down. Itâs a football play. But doesnât change the end result. You have to account for bad calls sometimes. It just wasnât one of those nights for belfry. But theyâll def be ok. Iâm sure of it

Yea it was hard for me to find it. Itâs a judgment call like a lot of penalties are. He thought it was at the time. Regardless of what I think, thatâs the way it played out. I wouldnât have called it, but Iâm not the ref. In the end, it is what it is I guess. Regroup, reload, and refocus.

I watched the game a couple times, fumbles was a result in trying to do to much like stretching for extra yardage and bad exchange. The score says Boyle was the better team period, canât get take backs. Belfry was in the game through 3, score was something like 27-24 Boyle. I am assuming belfry lost Dixon around that point, Boyle was able to punch a couple more scores in. Boyle played with a short field off of turnovers, that lead to the first 20 points I believe but that is part of it. The play if it was the pick six by 34 of belfry, it was a bang bang play both teams have an argument but I couldnât make that call in high school football. Kid was making a play at the ball, and it was bang bang. Belfry simply didnât hold on to the ball, but to give a team of Boyleâs caliber 5 or 6 extra possessions it was good football on Belfrys behalf to stay within 17. I know Boyle kneeled out final minute and they can score from anywhere on the field in a minute, I donât think that Boyle could have scored more if they wanted comment, I consider that being letâs just get this over and move on. It really looked like a good game from both clubs and something neither team should be second guessing. Great season Belfry and safe travels to Boyle as they come to town and we see round 2 with my hounds. All this other stuff is over now, my concern is did Dixon get hurt and is he ok. He played with major heart from what I saw and hope he is ok.

Dixon had been battling a calf strain and played through it really well. Hard to believe he is just a sophomore that played little varsity as a freshman. Belfry retools some on the O line and decides their QB and with what they have returning, they will be fine next year. No offense to the opposing district but with the cross districting, Belfry should could sleep walk to the state semis. Good Luck to Boyle and Corbin it should be a dandy.

Speaking of Dixon, anyone have his final individual stats for the game?
If Belfry finished with 300 yards rushing I would have to think he would be close to 130 or so.
Belfry posted stats but do not have individual rushing numbers up.
If my estimate is correct that would put Dixon right around 1400 rushing yards for the year. Impressive year for the Sophomore, in fact you might have to go back to Doug Howard (or maybe even further) to see a Sophomore post 1400 rushing yards in Belfry's Offensive system.
The kid is going to be special.
A backfield of Coleman (QB), Hensley & Webb (FB), Dixon (HB), and Bentley (HB) will be a machine next year.
The line has massive holes to fill, but you have to love having Wolford back as he will be one of the best Linemen in the State hands down. Garrett Smith, Aidan Smith, and Sean Cochran can all put themselves in position to start with a good offseason. Wolford is going to have to take over as the vocal leader and get these young guys busting their hump because Belfry's title hopes in 2019 will rest on how they play. I feel confident he will judging by what I have heard.
We have to find a way to keep Mounts and Cook healthy. We are a much better Defense when those two are out there. Secondary is relatively in tact. I think you see Dixon improve significantly on Defense. D-Line returns experience but we have a loooooong way to go still as evident by this season.
Hope to see Belfry sure up the kicking game.

I agree EKUAlum05, I think Belfry will be the favorite in the East to make it to state, maybe be the favorite to win it all. But I'm pretty sure CAL and DeSales may have something to say about that.
As far as our team I really think, except for the O-Line where we lose 4 out of 5 starters, we may be a better all around football team next year. And our O-Line could again be special. Remember, after the 2016 class graduated alot of folks thought we were done up front only to see us produce one of the best O-Lines in 3A since. As you said, Wolford is back. He was and will be the anchor of that unit. I know he's my son and I may be a little bias but I really believe Wolford is one of the best Centers in the state. I'll be shocked if he's not considered for All State honors as a junior. Cochran played alot of minutes and started some so he's got plenty of experience and will lock up one of those tackle spots. Garrett Smith is another one I think will start next year. We have other big body linemen just waiting for a chance.
Backfield will be explosive as ever! Bentley and Dixon will again have their way with most defenses next year. I'm hearing that Hensley may be done playing football. I hope its not true but if it is then that's a tough blow to us at Fullback. I think Webb will be just fine but there may be some depth issues there. Brett Coleman will be a superstar at QB "IF" he plays it next year. Again, I've heard he may not. Our offense will be just fine in 2019.
Defensively we have some really talented players on D but they just didnt gel together this year. Names like Grayson Cook, Ben Bentley, Isaac Dixon, Isiah Birchfield, Brett Coleman, Seth Mounts, Jacob Baisden, and Peyton Hensley (if he plays) to name a few will all be back. Most of them seniors. We've got to get better on the D-Line, plain and simple! But that's not our biggest concern. Our biggest concern is that we have to stay healthy! I'm not sure if Hensley played 2 games all year. Cook missed some time. Mounts is a great football player when he's on the field. These guys weren't the only ones. Their were others that missed key minutes due to injuries. But these 3 are some of our big time defensive players that we miss dearly when their not in. Gotta stay healthy and play. If we can tighten up on the defensive front and and play through some injuries we'll have a great chance at winning another title. If we don't, look for much of the same as this year.
Remember, this group of seniors, our 2020 class, was the team that went undeafeated and won the 8th grade middle school championship. Only time a Belfry middle school team ever went undeafeated and won it all to my knowledge. I know a lot has changed since then but this is still a special group of young men that will be hungry as ever and will want to finish their high school careers going out on top. I look for 4 or 5 from this 2020 class to be playing on Saturdays after their finished on Pond Creek. Cant wait until next year. Until then, let's go wrestle!!!
