Somerset @ Prestonsburg 11/22
Anyone remember playoff game back in the 80's between these two that was at Somerset? Somerset won, but later on that night at a local hotel an off duty Prestonsburg policeman was twirling his gun on his finger when it went off shooting another off duty officer in the foot or leg. I met the guy that got shot years later when I worked in Prestonsburg for 2 years.

BTW I spent two years over in Blackcat Country and loved it, I lived up Abbot Creek. I always pull for P'Burg but I can't of course this week...Go Jumpers!!!
Coach Derrossett and Jarradd Jarrell will be too much for the jumpers to handle in Pburg tonight..I hope the rain stops, should be one heck of a game..Big games are what JJ lives for...Go Blackcats
Hey JumperDad......years and years ago, we came down to watch the game of the year between Somerset and Corbin. Both were undefeated, I believe. One of the jumper players got his finger cut pretty badly on the first joint. He came out, they taped it up and sent him back in. Couple plays later, he came back out with the first joint hanging off his hand and the bloody bandage around it. He looked up into the stands and motioned for someone to come down. (SWEAR I'm not making this up!!) What could only be his mother came to the sidelines, and sat on a bench beside him. From the back, it would've been difficult to tell them apart if the player hadn't been in uniform. Well they stared at each other, dead in the eyes and he didn't make one sound whilst his joint was sewn back on his finger. Taped, gloved, taped again and he finished the game!!
A little over 3 hours to kick off.....I'm nervous FOR you guys!!!

Everyone be safe; and injury free!!!

Now that's one tough kid.
I wouldn't want to sass his momma either!!!
Blackcats should win this one. will be pulling for you.
This Thread has been a ball and all in good fun. May both teams stay healthy and may the best team win!!! Go Jumpers. Hope they are enjoying their Steak Dinner at Ponderosa in Hazard. Can't help but feel these Sr's will rise up and seize the moment. Time will tell. I must confess " Fear the Ears" is not mine, it's on the wall in Jumpers Dressing Room.
It's still a classic!! I'm still laughing over it!

NKYfootballfan91 Wrote:Somerset was very good in 2012, clearly they lost too much this season to go 5-4. 17 seniors should have propelled you to 8 to 9 wins. Pburg is not very impressive with a 5-5 record with a very soft schedule. No quality wins and some bad losses.

I'll take somerset 35-7.

Soft Schedule? :please::gtfo:

Agreed Pit. 3 teams on each teams schedule are still in the playoffs.
