Not worried about inside kicks. Got to score touchdowns to kickoff. Corbin Freds off of short field situations. Powell would feed the monster with not punting and kicking the ball deep. Powell is better than given credit for. They will need to play field position to win. Go Hounds. 64SUR has planned his Thanksgiving around a trip to Belfry. Don't mess up his holiday weekend

Big Chief Wrote:Gameday is upon us and I, for one, am thrilled to see all of the Pirate and Redhound supporters on here talking smack! This is the most buzz and interest around this Powell County program in their history. These are the type of seasons that help programs like Powell take that next step. Keep this stuff up until kickoff!
Now with an honest opinion and analysis.........
Powell has really embraced the underdog role this week. They are essentially playing with house money. They have absolutely no pressure on them and you will see a very loose and free wheeling Pirate team tonight. Powell is solid and Corbin is very talented, however I think a huge difference is depth. Corbin has it, Powell does not. Powell's first 11 can match up pretty well, but they will get tired. If Powell can get through that crucial period in the late 2nd quarter when a little fatigue begins to set in and not give up a couple of quick scores, then they will have a shot. Same with the mid to late 4th quarter. During those stretches if Powell can put together a couple of time consuming drives then the pressure ratchets up on Corbin. If Powell is within a score at halftime and towards the end it will be interesting to see how each team responds. Will Powell continue to believe they are destined and super heroes in some epic underdog story? Will Corbin step up and win a game they should or will the pressure to win a state title and all of the expectations they have create little cracks to be exploited? Either way the excitement generated by this game is a huge deal for Powell.
I haven't been to Stanton in a spell and I look forward to being there tonight. Safe travels and an injury free contest for all.
Shock the state! Believe! Go Pirates!
Your analysis wasn't too good sir, stick to watching the games. Powell's starter's didn't stand a chance against Corbin, 36-0 in the first quarter proves that. I don't blame Powell's coaching staff for the demolishing, there's not much they could have done with that big a talent gap, but it's safe to say Corbin's coaching staff is head and shoulders better than Powell's. Sure, a great coach would have made it close, or developed more talent in the off-season, etc, but Powell didn't lose due to faulty scheming... They just got outplayed. I suppose there was a reason why Powell had no pressure on them. Not trying to bash on Powell they had a great season, anytime you get to a Regional Championship game you've got something and you are doing something right. Hope you enjoyed your trip to Stanton Big Chief. You probably should go ahead and move to Stanton, considering that's all you talk about. Happy Thanksgiving bro!

Corbin is a very good football team and I wish them luck in the semis.
As for you, Ole Man, congratulations. You picked a high school football game correctly. I did some research and it seems like your activity on this site consists of trying to find where people make a wrong prediction, tell them how wrong they were, and then throw some thinly veiled juvenile insult at them. That makes you a troll. So, crawl back under whatever bridge you slithered out from under and bask in the glory of whatever it is that you bask in. Because rule number one of message board etiquette is never feed the trolls.
My trip to Stanton was enjoyable. I had the chance to see some old friends and catch up. However, I don't think I'll be moving there anytime soon. The night life is lacking and it doesn't have the robust culinary scene that the Chief requires in his places of residency. Stanton stills holds a special place in my heart though.

I am not trying to troll. I do not think I have been lying in wait for someone to trip up. If you feel that way I apologize. Although I did come down to harshly on you and the Pirates. The Pirates had a terrific season. Anytime you host a regional championship game you've made it. Corbin is an elite football team. My apologizes. Have a great thanksgiving.
